Something is definitely wrong with a man who would date the mother and then the daughter, whom he could have been a father to if the relationship with the mother had worked out. Someone needs to talk to this young woman and relate this side of it. Don't be negative, just provide her with the facts and hopefully she will see the light. Predator and incest come to my mind, but I wouldn't use those words to her.

The daugher should probably move out if she's going to do that. It would be incredibly painful for her mother otherwise. I think someone (not the mother) should have a good talk with that daughter, and counsel her against this. Not just because the guy is her mom's ex, but because there is too large an age difference between them. She is still a teenager, and he is a man (or should be). Most men are fathers at this age, certainly not dating teenagers. --- Char

She is an adult now. If they forbid it all that will do is drive her closer to him. The best thing they can do is back off and not say a word. When someone attacks someone you like it makes you want to defend them and thats what she will do....defend him. And he will use her by playing the rejected victim to gain sympathy.

There's really nothing one could do. Being 18 it's legal. Forbidding an adult won't accomplish anything. Forbidding an adult will mean that adult will do exactly opposite of what should be done.

Well aside from talking about things that Mothers & Daughter do & don't share .... perhaps if Mom tells her why he was a bad choice for dating and that she will just be another notch in the belt for him ....

Aside from that .... Good Luck !

Out of the question. She's too young for man that age.

Men who even try to date teens, are considered pedophiles,

even if they're not that bad a person. I totally agree with her parents. I'd encourage her to date someone whose 19 or 20.

I'd even consider grounding her, and maybe even spanking her if she defied me, and if she even considered sneaking out.

Well, she's 18, an adult. but the best you can do is object to it, give sound reasons why, hope and pray.
