Is there a difference between a workout in the morning & a workout in the evening?

Is working out in the morning, say a 20 minute run on my bicycle, before I even start my day better for loosing weight and burning calories than working out at 9pm after dinner & fruit?

Thank you for your help

    Yes.

If you work out hard too close to whenever you go to bed, your sleep will be disturbed and you will be more tired. This is not good. However, if you have time for your body to calm back down, working out in the evening can be good as it boosts your bodies metabolism just as it is slowing down for the day.

Working out in the morning is also very good and probably better for most people. It will wake your body up and boost your metabolism for the day. Also, you have been fasting all night and your body is hungry for energy. Most people will be more likely to burn fat in the morning. You may want a small snack first so your body doesn't panic and catabolize muscle.

I have heard that it is much better to work out in the AM. I have heard that it starts your metabolism going so when you eat throughout the day your body is burning off more calories. It also gives you more energy and endorphines! I personally like working out at night only becuase I dont have time in the morning but i often get a burst of engergy and its hard for me to go to sleep!

    Good Luck! :)

Lately they've been stating now that it's better to work out in the morning -- stimulates your muscles more, wakes them up.

I prefer the morning, because I want to wind down more in the evening.

    Hope this helps!
