How do I take the songs from my i pod and put it back on my computer?

My husband had to reconfigure our computer so I lost my itunes library. It had all of the songs that I downloaded from limewire. Now I want to redo the ipod but the songs that I have on the ipod are no longer on my computer. Can I put them from Ipod to Itunes library?

    BTW if you really want to avoid paying for songs get iRecord (www.irecord.com) it'll let your record songs/videos onto your iPod from your TV, DVD player, Turn tables n ext.. so you can hook irecord upto your TV while u got a music channel on n record onto your ipod. because alot of music channels are playing music videos beofre the song has been released you get songs before anybody on you iPod

    In order to copy music off an ipod that weren't purchased from iTunes, you need a third party application, as iTunes does not allow you to pull music off the ipod, only erase or upload music to the ipod. There are A LOT of programs that will do this. Be sure that when you plug the ipod in, you say no to syncing the ipod with that itunes library until after you've used one of these apps.

    A few that I've found for windows, though I haven't necessarily tried them all:

    iGadget ( http://www.ipodsoft.com/ )

    YamiPod ( http://www.yamipod.com/ )

    iPod2PC ( http://www.casicakes.com/ )

    iRepo ( http://www.ipodsoft.com/ )

    iPod->Folder ( http://www.longfingers.com/ipodfolder/ )

    ephpod ( http://www.ephpod.com/ )

    iPod 2 iTunes ( http://www.theboysdownunder.com/ )

    CopyTrans ( http://www.copytrans.net/ )

    If you use a mac, or just don't like these programs for whatever reason, you can always do a search for "ipod" on versiontracker.com

    *Disclaimer: These programs are designed to allow you to back up or reinstate music from your ipod back onto your computer should something happen. They are not meant for you to illegally share your music with other people. If you have music purchased from the iTunes Store, these programs will NOT remove the DRM from these songs and they will not play on other computers and/or ipods unless that itunes is authorized with the same iTunes store account.

    Unfortunately, I think when you uploaded the songs to your ipod and you didn't check the box that you wanted the whole file instead of just the audio part, you shouldnt be able to transfer. But, if you did then you should just be able to click and drag...

    There are a couple programs that can do it, such as ephPod, and several others. If you have a Mac, iLink Pod is the best. Either way, it's free and easy.
