Modern cultures has just adopted a few of his maxims and is so successful but if really we adopt his rules this world will become heaven. The Kingdom of God mentioned by Jesus is actually full adoption of his orders. That is why a capable and intelligent conqueror of modern times Napolean declared "very soon I will start Quran's Laws in this world" and

He would lead us into oblivion. Anytime someone with less than preferable intellect has run an empire, it has led to the horror of oblivion.

Take a look, the Greeks were a world power until their society rotted from corrupt politics.

The Roman empire rulled most of the known world, until fools and mad-men who could not control themselves gained power, lo and behold, one of the classical worlds greatest super powers fell into a hellish corruption and was quickly dismissed.
