How do I find out more information about???

About 8 1/2 - 9 yrs ago I had a cousin who was in the Army and died in a car accident in Texas. How can I find more info on the accident without talking to my aunt ? Is there a way ? He was fresh out a bootcamp or maybe still going through training. Please help!!

    If you know the town you could maybe contact the local law maybe they will give you some information, also depending of how big a town it is the library, Most newspaper places keep one copy on file for a long time. If he was in the service and I doubt they would give out much, his last command. Someplace keep a real tight lip on stuff. They are l going to want know why you need this information.

    Contacting the Military base there would be like calling the Quick-e Mart in the town 50 miles away. The PAO my have something there but I doubt it. the old unit has changed commands four to five times so no one there will know him. The MP desk would have thin information only if it happened on Post. You best bet is to contact the county clerks office and ask them to Look in any public records they have on him and the accident. because they are public records they are available to every one. If it was on post they will not give you any information but you can still get it thou the freedom of information act, after filing the proper forms.

    This is a long shot but try and contact the local military base.Tell them what you just wrote about they should be able to direct you to a web site or contact the Pentagon themselves.Your point of contact should be directed to the Public Affairs Officer.That should get in the right direction
