Well 7oka its called the "419 Nigerian scam" it comes in many forms, but its aim is ultimately to rip you off.

I had received an e-mail like this before and out of curuosity went along with them to see what was it they were after.

The sequence of the e-mail I have recieved and my replies were as follows:

1- I replied to claim my prize giving them my details (just the email and phone number).

2- I got a phone call from an impostor faking the Spanish accent claiming that he is the head of the Bank where my money was deposited and that he will send me shortly instructions on how to collect the money (I know the spanish accent well - I speak the language and lived in Spain for a while).

3- He sent me a telephone number (usually a cell phone) of the legal firm they deal with and told me they will contact me shortly to finish the paper work.

4- l got another phone call and an email with a power of attorney (tawkeel) to complete so that the legal firm can represent me in and transfer the money.

5- I was asked to pay them in advance 5000US$ in legal and administrative fees (with a nice breakup of items).

6- I told them I didn't have the money and that I'm renouncing the prize.

7- I got another e-mail from the alledged lawyer saying that he'll try to get the money himself as a personal favour to me and that I should reimburse him later with an extra bonus for his personal service.

8- He contacted me again saying that he was able to raise most of the needed cash by borrowing it from a friend of his, and that he was still 600US$ short. requesting me to at least pay this remaining little sum, after all I was going to be a millionaire soon and those 600 US$ will not make a difference.

This is where he lost me, and I stopped all communications.

I know another guy who went along with them and went all the way to Angola to complete the transaction and there he was almost kidnapped.

So just forget about it... its a scam for sure.

Sorry but I would say it is a prank 100%. These companies use the info to sell for survays and other forms of internet and mail advertising
