Housewives Undercover?
Last night on Tyne Tees did anyone watch the undercover house wives about wetherspoon selling Zebu for beef.Well I will not be buying anymore beef unless it's from a Farmers Market.I have been saying for a long time meat tastes different
even lamb you cannot tell its lamb. How many people have noticed that our meat has no taste.
Forgot the ladies asked if it Was British Beef to which except for twice were told Yes.One said from Ireland the other said they thought it was from Argentine.
They State 100% British Beef. How much longer are we going to let them con us & that applies to all our food.

I missed the programme, but I buy from a local family butcher who has been trading for many years, everything I buy from him is excellent, so perhaps I am lucky, it ALL has good flavour.

Yes Ollie... I watched the Programme and was disgusted at the muck they import for the British public to eat. My last purchase of what was "British Lamb" was returned to the Supermarket, as after cooking was uneatable, with a large streak of gristle right down the middle. Even the Man in charge of the meat counter could not believe his eyes when he saw it, and his remark was " Nobody could possibly eat that " I got my money back as I would not accept another joint of lamb. I am sure that came off an unknown creature...!!

Have noticed since joining EU that most meat bought in UK is lacking taste but as you seen on TV programme seems meat we are getting in UK seems to be from Africa and Asia the home of the Zebu
- SubicLv 51 decade ago
Its got no flavour because its filled with additives, hormones and other cr@p, fed on hay and antibiotics, and the animals never see sunlight. And they are bred for bulk not quality.
We Brits wanted cheap food, and we got it. Its also rubbish food!
As for Zebu meat, its probably better for you than British beef, as its not full of all the additives. Probably tastes better too. Where can i get some?

Actually, it was the beefburgers which were labelled 100% British Beef. The steak was unlabelled and ppl mistakenly believed that it was British Beef.

Frightening wasn`t it.
Luckily we have an excellent butcher in the village. His meat must be good, he eats it himself.
After working at several large food manufacturers during my life, it would make you puke if you knew what went into pies and the like. It`s the local bakery for me.

Undercover housewives Ollie. Are you talking about me? Hehe
Yes you are right. On the rare occasions I buy meat for my Boris I have noticed it is rather tasteless. So is the chicken. I would rather eat fish or lamb-lamb being my favourite.

Bet if you wanted to buy a nice joint of Zebu it would cost you loads and have to come from a specialist....
Mind you beefs pricey enough these days.

This adultery has become a universal phenomenon which can be prevented by creating awareness among public and by creating honesty among shop keepers.
