Outdated Alienware Desktop?

What do I do when I want to upgrade but I have over $3000 dollars invested in a machine that is outdated. I've tried to sell it for a quarter of that but no luck. Then I see these dell's and HP's that people sell for $800 that hails in conparison to my computer.

Update:

I guess what I was saying is, how can people sell junk for two hundred less. And I can deal with it, don't be hating cuz you don't roll like I do.

Update 2:

3.4Ghz Intel extreme 4mb cache,4mb of 3200 cosiar ram,7800 nvidia 512mb GDDR3 overclock series AGP,X-FI extreme gamer sound card, sitting on a gigabyte 6-dual miracle mobo w/ daughterboard,16 blue led fans,Zalman all copper blue 120mm led HS,clear window of course, two lightscribe dvd cd burners,9in1 card reader,650 clear power supply w/ 2 led blue fans and the list goes on.

    Edited due to additional details:

The people who will pay for outdated equipment don't really know what what they are doing usually and will be looking especially for Dell or eMachines and will likely have never even heard of Alienware. Alienware caters to a very specific crowd and that crowd doesn't want an outdated system.

Edited for MORE additional Info: If you get a new mobo w/ an intel quadcore you could have a pretty decent system, and if you wanted to you could either SLI the 7800s or get SLI 8800s and not have to go out a buy a whole new system.

you can pay top bucks $3000 plus for todays computers two core 64 and all the top notch gear in it and next year it will be out of date and it won't be worth a lite.. that's the trouble with computers they are out of date before you buy them....

the 3 core 64x cpu is now out so those that bought the two core 64x2 are now out of date already ....

computers are like cars... they go down in value pretty fast.

I think you just have to bite the bullet and get a new computer. At some point its just not worth upgrading it anymore.

E-bay. Set a reserve. Worth a shot, at least.
