I see Questions labeling Mormons / LDS as Non-Christian so I want to ask - Are you Christian and Christlike?

Have you tried comparing your life to the Beatitudes?

Poor in Spirit – not prideful – Humble before God and neighbors

Mourners who long to be comforted by the Holy Spirit

Meek – steadfast in following Christ – unshaken in your faith – yet not boastful in your ability to follow Christ.

Hunger and Thirst after righteousness – a desire for truth and to do good continually

Merciful – kind in your rebukes of others – forgiving all (not to the point of robbing justice)

Pure in heart – Man/woman of your word –chaste – intending to do good always

Peacemaker – Kind in word and deed – shunning contention (not shunning competition)

Calm in the face of persecution and revilings

I see that I have a lot to work on myself.

BTW I am Mormon and I consider myself Christian trying to become Christ-like

Update 2:

Hey Dane -- I know there is always a bit of Irony when asking this kind of question. How can I say that I am trying to be Christ-like and ask this question at the same time. HMMMMMM

Update 3:

G. Peach -- thank you brother

I think anyone who disputes whether members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are Christians, are just looking for a fight and aren't going to be disuaded.

That said, I believe anyone who believes in Christ is a "Christian" but the label only goes as far as your ability to live up to the name. And the name is just that - a name. A man-made label. And not one I think that makes a difference to Heavenly Father or Jesus.

Only God and Jesus know our true intentions.

Definitely Christian and striving to be Christlike day by day.

My great weakness is self-discipline. I waste too much time that should be dedicated to doing good. I am subject to the temptations of the flesh and strive to combat the natural man within me. Do I fall short of Christlike, sure I do. But I don't give up. Each day I try to be better than the day before. I don't always succeed. I have plent of room for improvement. I have faith that if I endure in my efforts to become Christlike, that I will eventually get there. I will be pleased if at the end of my days I can say that I have, like the Savior, overcome the world, or at least the ways of the world are no longer a part of my life.

All I can say is I try.

Early Christians gave out awards about humility to someone in their number. The problem with that award is that they had to take it away from the winner as soon as they gave it.

Amen. But I think it's really hard to ask this type of question without making the same mistake. I've got plenty of work to do myself. Good luck to you.

Edit: D- I don't know, I've thought about it before. But you did a good job.
