    "ex-wife" in Japanese are;

    "zensai(前妻・ぜんさい)"

    Cf. There is another word that has the same pronunciation, "zensai," which means "appetizer." But one of its Chinese characters is different, and it is "前菜(zen sai・ぜんさい)."

    "mototsuma(もとつま・元妻)"

    "moto no tsuma [okusan](もとのつま[おくさん]・元の妻[奥さん])"

    Cf. "tsuma" and "okusan" both mean "wife" in Japanese. "Wife" in Japanese are also "yome(嫁・よめ)" and "nyoubo."

    Hope my answer helps! :-)
