Which state park would you recommend in the southeast United States?
I haven't been to many state parks. So let's share traveling ideas. Where do you like to go and why? Thanks for your feedback!
I don't have an RV or camper, so it's either find a cabin or rough it camping. I enjoyed Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama where we rented a cabin. We went during the fall. The foliage and mountains were magnificent. The cabin was cozy and it overlooked the valley and downtown Huntsville. http://www.alapark.com/parks/park.cfm?parkid=6
This summer I camped at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida. Campers share a 'private' beach and the facilities are spotless clean. The white sandy beaches with emerald green waters are beautiful! http://www.floridastateparks.org/hendersonbeach/de...

I went to caladesi last year and absolutely loved it. It's beautiful and unspoiled. There were huge turtles walking on the beach and beautiful birds. The boat ride to it is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend it.

Try Seashore State Park in Virginia Beach, Va. They have cabins to rent.

I liked Joe Wheeler State Park near Decatur, Alabama. The only drawback is that it is in a dry county, so you'll need to bring your own beer or wine.

Take a look at Land Between the Lakes in Tennesee. Anywhere in Tennesee, for that matter. Beeuutifulll.
Source(s): Travelled through on I-40, was truly amazed that Tennesee could be so stunning.
