We are waiting to hear back from the seller's lender (Everhome Mortgage). Originally the mortgage company said it would take 30 to 45 days to make a decision. They've had our information for about a month, but just assigned a negotiator two weeks ago. At that point, the lender said they would order a BPO, which would take about a week, and then they would make a decision. So, now it's two weeks later and the seller's Realtor is telling me that it will be 30 to 45 days from the time the negotiator is assigned. Does this sound right? What will happen with the closing date set for July 15th? We only have about 3 weeks until our loan rate & insurance quote expires as well.

My husband and I are buying a short sale house for $162,000. The property appraiser's website has the house appraised at about $143,000 & total appraisal at about $180,000. It's a brick home w/ vinyl trim. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Maple cabinets w/ Corian counter tops. Carpet/Tile flooring. There is about 1700 sq ft living space & about 2600 total sq ft. The home was purchased new in 2007 by the seller for $219,000. The bank says the insurance coverage must be no less than our purchase price of $162,000, but the insurance company recommends more coverage due to not being able to rebuild for the price of $162,000. Would I be overpaying at $225,000??

In my housing loan application it gives the breakdown of the principal mortgage payment, taxes, hazard insurance and mortgage insurance. What is the mortgage insurance? It's an additional $70 per month.

My hubby & I are trying to buy a short sale house. We've given an earnest money deposit & made an offer which was accepted by the seller. We have the pre-approval letter from our bank. Now the seller's Realtor is sending a package to the seller's lender to see if they will approve of the sale. Any idea how long this will take? We've already been waiting one week. Any other advice on buying a short sale? THANKS!

My husband and I have been TTC for almost 3 years. I just found out I have low progesterone levels (not sure exactly what, but it's below 10). The Dr said she cannot prove or disprove that I am ovulating, so she recommended Clomid. She also said if/when I get pregnant on Clomid, she will put me on progesterone during the first trimester. I should start my first cycle of Clomid either the first or second week of January.

Has anyone else been in this same situation? How long did it take you to conceive? Did you have problems with a pregnancy after the clomid and progesterone? Thanks for help.

I'm in the process of buying an '03 Pilot from a dealer. It's a great deal and they'll take my trade which makes it even better. I drove the Pilot home from the dealership last night. On the way to work this morning the oil light started flashing. I checked the oil and its full. I called the dealer and they said they'd come pick the Pilot up and trailer it an hour back to the dealer to fix it.

I've heard Honda's run forever...and so far I've only had problems w/ my two other previous American cars (Ford Mustang & Olds Aurora *both used*). I know it's a risk to buy used, just like its a risk for the dealer to take my trade. I do believe I'm getting the better deal, but I'm concerned over the oil light issue.

Any ideas on what the oil light problem may be and what's your feedback on purchasing this Honda? Thanks!!

My hubby and I have been TTC for 2 1/2 years. My cycles range from 27 to 34 days. Day one of this cycle was July 28th. On day 30, I started having a few cramps and started spotting, but that was it. I've had a few more cramps since then, but no period. This morning (Sept 1st, Day 36) I took a hpt and got a negative. Did I test too soon? Could my period just be freakishly late? Any ideas as to what's going on???

I don't have an RV or camper, so it's either find a cabin or rough it camping. I enjoyed Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama where we rented a cabin. We went during the fall. Situation: A boyfriend and girlfriend have been living together for less than one year. The two children do not belong to the boyfriend. They are the girlfriend's children. When it was time to file for '06, the boyfriend claimed both of the children (with gf's permission) on his tax form. Is this legal? Do you know anyone who has done this & then the IRS wanted the BIG refund back?? Is there a website that would say if this is legal? I searched on the IRS website but did not see anything.
