Low progesterone and on Clomid. Anyone else like this?

My husband and I have been TTC for almost 3 years. I just found out I have low progesterone levels (not sure exactly what, but it's below 10). The Dr said she cannot prove or disprove that I am ovulating, so she recommended Clomid. She also said if/when I get pregnant on Clomid, she will put me on progesterone during the first trimester. I should start my first cycle of Clomid either the first or second week of January.

Has anyone else been in this same situation? How long did it take you to conceive? Did you have problems with a pregnancy after the clomid and progesterone? Thanks for help.

Hello, I have been trying for 4years and I just found out that I have low progesterone too 5.9 was my levels so my doctor also put me on clomid.I 've been on clomid for 3months now. I started out on 50mg my 1st cycle of clomid I don't know for sure if I ovulated or not but my 2nd cycle I used ovulation test and never got a positive so my doctor increased my dose to 100mg which I just finished on the 8th and I either ovulated yesterday or I'm ovulating today cause I have been having lots of aches in my ovaries snice yesterday plus I'm taking my BBT and my temps were low yesterday and back up today so that is a good sign that I am ovulating so me and hubby has been Baby dancing every 36 hours so hopefully I'll get my BFP by the end of this month.Best of luck to you, hope it works for you and you get your BFP soon.Throwing Tons of Baby Dust your way!

    Hi there,

In a normal non-stimulated menstrual cycle, a progesterone level above 3-6ng/ml indicates ovulation. It is important to measure the progesterone level early in the morning and while fasting. Also, most progesterone tests are done about a week after ovulation or around CD21. Were these the circumstances for your tests?

If so, and your results came out between 3-6 or higher, you ovulated that cycle.

Are you seeing a GYN or regular doctor?

Be careful with Clomid if you already ovulate. Be sure to get an ultrasound done to check your ovaries after you've taken your medication.

Honestly, I would just try charting for a couple of months first. Charting will tell you if you ovulate and when and if your luteal phase is healthy.

    Good luck.

You can prove if you're ovulating by charting your temps, and a good doctor should make you start.

I have low progesterone as well. Clomid didn't work for me, but make sure your doctor is going to put you on Progesterone.

i used Progecterone after our IVF, and my PGcy has been totally normal.
