Pre-season football, what a waste of tv time?

Question

I'm all for just cutting through the B.S. and making the pre-season games count and making the NFL season a few weeks longer. It seems pointless to play the same game but the result doesn't matter. It matters big time if someone gets hurt though. One week of games that amount to a free pass and then on with the normal season.  Half the players aren't even trying that hard, and most of the time it's 2nd or 3rd stringers anyway. Make all the games count.

This is how coaches decide who makes the 53 man roster and who does not. 

They also help the refs become familiar with new rules and timing.

The games are very important to those people.

Preseason is an important part of the NFL. It gives time for rookies to show their worth and earn a spot on the roster and cut the underperformers aside. Also it is a great time to experiment with new rules and regulations (i.e the line judge in the offensive backfield). In addition teams under new personnel, Preseason is a great opportunity for new coaches to gel with the team. Teams also use Preseason to try new play packages and use Preseason to develop, correct, and improve before the regular season.

Agreed!!  Cut it in half to two preseason games and an 18 game regular schedule

i agree.
i think the hole thing is a scam, and i quiet frankly have better things to do than watch that on every channel it is stupid.
