A half a cap of Miralax in any liquid (colorless, tasteless,etc.). It dissolves quickly & they don't know its in there. Its over the counter now - used to be Rx. No cramping, etc. very gental. Have to use it w/ my 21 month old daughter. I use a 1/2 a capful daily - just keeps her going regular and makes it easier to go - sort of like a softner.

I would give the child miralax. It is a laxative, but since it's a softener and not a stimulant it had no harmful side effects when given in the correct dosage. Don't let the constipation get out of control or your poor child could end up with a prolapse.

I use prune juice and milk. I mix a 3rd of the cup with prune juice to a glass of milk. I tell him it's coffee. He's 3 and none to the wiser. He drinks it up because he thinks he is a big boy like "daddy" and it keeps him regular. Prune juice isn't the expensive and could be used daily to keep him regular !!
