I am not a "lefty" or even remotely a democrat. I don't play well with parties.
It struck me as strange, I found this while doing reasearch for an upcoming academic conference about urban industrialization. There are striking similarities even if it is coincidental. I am not a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, I just have an unbiased view. Look I voted for Bush...now I think he is a chimp and has abused his powers as well as the free market system.

Is this the conspiracy theory that Bushies used a "false flag" CIA type operation to crash airplanes into the WTC using a NORAD war game as cover?
Or is this the American Fascists just took advantage of yet another classic CIA blunder?
But yes, the comparisons scare the hell out of me. Even that the American public wants an escape from freedom.

Sounds like the way the national socialist party came to power in Germany.
I don't know of any committed socialists coming to power lately besides in Venezuela.
Watch for that to play out similar to what you have posted.
As Joseph Goebbels wrote, "We are socialists because we see the social question as a matter of necessity and justice for the very existence of a state for our people, not a question of cheap pity or insulting sentimentality. The worker has a claim to a living standard that corresponds to what he produces. We have no intention of begging for that right. Incorporating him in the state organism is not only a critical matter for him, but for the whole nation. "

if you want to draw parallels, i think it is more beneficial to too see how similar we are to Germany and England in their pre-war attitudes that "Hitlers isn't that bad and he isn't too much of a danger and we should just mind our own business because it doesn't affect us personally." it is my opinion that the whole world now faces a far greater danger since many country's have or will have nuclear weapons and have no fear of using them against those who resist.
this is a new style of warfare and requires new strategies to combat it.
we have an intelligent, dedicated, committed enemy who does not represent a nation but an ideology that they intend to make us all accept or die. to underestimate them if foolish just as those who under estimated hilter and allowed him to become a bigger threat than they should have.

Familiar? Yea... it's WWII stuff.
If you're trying to make a connection between today's administration and the Nazis of WWII... you fail. Try again.
There were no emergency powers granted. There are no concentration camps for people to be rounded up into. Congress is NEVER going to give up its power to the president. The judiciary wouldn't allow it, either.
