How do I remove black stains from an oak floor if I cannot sand and refinish?(I have parrots)?

Update:

My parrots did not make the stains on the floor. I don't know where they came from. .Even so,there is no safe way to ventilate the house with birds in it when you do a drastic thing like sand and stain a floor, then put sealer on it.I can't take that chance. I appreciate all of the answers I have received.

You cannot. The wood is permanently stained. The urine from the birds contains ammonia, and causes a chemical reaction which "fumes" the wood. Ammonia is sometimes used on purpose to darken/stain oak. The effects are permanent and are inside the grain of the wood, not just lying on top like a paint.

Your best bet is to sand the old finish off, stain the floor a dark color such as walnut, and refinish with polyurethane floor finish. You will still see the stain, but it won't be as noticeable. Then, put waterproof protectors underneath your bird's cages.

I'm not sure I understand the connection. If you are concerned about chemicals upsetting your parrots, simply move them to another room and ventilate the area well while you work on the floors. Otherwise, there is no way to deal with a stain. That's why they're called stains....

They won't come out anyway, the floor is ruined. Replace it.
