Can you tell me what movie this is?
It's about a German boy in a boarding school during WWII in South Africa. Some bigger boys killed his pet chicken. Then he went to stay with his grandpa(?) who was a nature scientist working out of a prison work camp in S. Africa. He befriended one of the black men in the camp and the end is the two of them walking off into the sunset.

Yes, The Power of One is the film (it is based on the book of the same name by Bryce Courteney, which is followed by Tandia). If you enjoyed the movie, I think the book is even better and is worth reading. Peekay, the boy, was actually English (which was I think why he was picked on at school).

I loved this movie growing up. It was so beautiful, makes me cry everytime! lol
