how to deal with kleptomania?
we suspect our 10-year old niece, trish, is showing symptoms of kleptomania. this may be a manifestation of depresseion as her parents are on the process of divorcing.
i have read there is no cure for this. how do we deal with this? she is a sweet, vivacious little girl and we are shocked to have discovered this tendency of hers.
please, help. thank you.

maybe it is her way of screaming out for help. her parents are probably not showing her much attention right know. she isn't sure where she stands in all the chaos around her. why don't you try talking with her ,if she wont talk with you then try to get her help from somewhere else. please don't jump to conclusions about mental illness. that could hurt her even further.
