Why don't more web pages, especially news stories, don't have a date?

There have been a number of times that I have read a news story on the Internet, and there is no date. Sometimes I find something by searching a subject, and it's obvious the information is out of date. Having a date on when the page was posted would help in determining if the information is obsolite. Why isn't this done more often?

Try right clicking on the news page and then click on properties, you may find the date that way.
