I don't believe so - I think we do have some control over our lives but not nearly as much as "creating ones own reality" would suggest. That extreme concept is horrible and offensive - when you think about little kids that are beaten and tortured and molested - did they create their own reality? I don't think so - there are many things that happen to people that are totally out of their control, I have experience - and no matter how hard you try to be in control of your life you just aren't - and perhaps its not a good thing to think you ever are. I just think that people who have little or now problems believe that everyone else that has drama in their lives somehow is to blame for it - so it's way too extreme of an ideology and doesn't logically fit.

Absolutely, 100%.
Look at religious people: they BELIEVE in their god/religion/books... and it becomes a REALITY to them.
Heck, they get all bent outta shape when you don't agree or believe them. That's because of narrow-mindedness. To them, their belief isn't believing in a certain reality, to them, it's called 'faith'.
Just changing/adding the word 'faith' absolves them from cognitive/logical justification of their beliefs. When backed into a corner and the religious person cannot answer your question, they use their last defense: 'Faith'
Faith: 'Belief that is not based on truth' - it's in the dictionary.
YOU create your own reality. It just means you have to live with the consequences of your actions: I choose not to go to work. I then, will get fired/be broke.
Action causes reaction.

About some things. For instance, we can believe certain things about a person, for instance, that are not true, but are "real" to us.
But if I were to walk off a 20 story building since I do not believe in gravity, well, that reality would catch up with me.

I believe that God created what we are living now. However I do know that our perceptions can change our view points on reality, if that's what you mean, and in turn that can effect our attitudes, which can effect the way other people treat us, which of course can change our lives.

yes and no. if you decide a career to study in then, what made you pick it?
believe yes, so you can make the right choices, but eventually its not your, your mind is already set previously to a reality.

sure do, i would highly recommend the movie
You dont know bleep!
it's about the theory of infinite possibilities. Where every instance in your life is made by split second decisions. There is no future just instances. It really helps to watch this movie without any prejudice and judgments to be able to take in all the information.

It is a mixture of the environment, and ourselves that create our reality.

Sure! Absolutely! My reality has no gravity! I'm typing this on my laptop at 36000 feet, and I'm not even on an aircraft! Oh wait... ouch.
