World Vision Children...A Scam??? Please Help!?

You don't adopt these kids, you sponsor them. The majority of them have families with whom they live.

I sponsor 2 kids, one in Thailand and one in one in India. I adore them both. I send them birthday and Christmas gifts plus letters throughout the year. They always write back, sometimes with drawings.

The $30(with world vision) a month will usually go towards medical and educational costs. At least that is how it's worked with my sponsorships. Both girls were are in stable homes where food is provided consistantly by their families.

It is a very rewarding thing to sponsor a child! I encourage you to do so!

Compassion international is also a great organization. I sponsor one child through them!

Look at the salaries they get.the reality is the workers say they cut eachother's the neck with the bible.Your money goes to salaries and foreign tripsthe staff spend lavishly on hotels for training and trips. I know the reality.some managers don't have even the least human qualities.but the funny thing is the good Christians leave the org when the international keeps quite.

It's a sad story. Help a church if you want not World Vision. It's a joke.these people pray every day but do the most inhuman things to staff.see how many have left after taking so good salaries and foreign training. They just sell children for money.

We sponsor one and we keep getting the same picture of a poorly drawn house or a profile of a car. The picture of a boy sent to us is of what appears to be a teenager on a bicycle and the card says he's 7 years old. I'm not sure about this anymore. World Vision may or may not be a scam, but this doesn't make sense.

I have been sponsoring 2 children for approximately 4 years. I am getting concerned. The last thing I want to do is to take food out of these children's mouths. However, I gave extra donations to both children 5 months ago. Both of those donations went to one child "accidentally" says World Vision. So they said since it was there mistake they were going to make sure the second child received the $100 that was wrongfully given to the first child. And they would pay for it. My problem was for 1-the first child received a cow and roofing supplies. The second child received 3 pairs of shoes and a pile of stuff I couldn't make out in the picture. So cows seem pretty cheap over there? I am not sure what to do. I want to give to these children if they are actually receiving the donation. But my gut is telling me something is wrong!! I sponsor a child, have done so before but stopped paying at some point when I felt I didn't have enough money to keep paying. A person at my work says he thinks it is a scam that's why I looked this up. I think it's legit, that the money goes towards real things that help people's lives. I got letters from the person I was helping last time that he wrote (a child) to me. I simply pay the price in the hopes that I am helping someone who is much worse off than I am. I person who is in desperate need of help.

I have been seriously thinking about adopting one of these children that they show on tv commercials.... thing is that I don't know weather it's a scam or not??? 30 dollars a month...is not bad but is it enought to feed a child every month and give them things we need on a daily...

Other then being hounded and made to feel awful by an organization looking for money, dont get me wrong I do give to charities when I have money, but when I told them I couldn't, they were asking me for my bank information or even if I had a credit card! I was completely put on the spot! When I asked them if I could take Pamphlet to take with me, they said they didn't have any information or Pamphlet to give! They didn't seem friendly! I came home crying cause I felt so bad that I wasn't able to help them out, they made me feel so guilty but when I went online, I found out that this organization was a scam! NO... World vision , Christian Children Fund are ALL LEGIT.... I had sponsored through the later, they are adult by now. Cause, CCF involved DIRECTLY.... WHOLE VILLAGE. from community water, education, Health, and individual life. Your sponsored child community use very high percentage of your monthly $30. NOT TO THE PRESIDENT, because CCF staff ARE THERE WITH LOCAL, 24/7. As sponsor you can keep contact (optional) with your sponsored child until adult, mine became teacher and stay in the village, I had sponsored. For your information I'm not CCF staff.

Not scam at all; as far as I know for the last many years, they are indeed trying to make underpriviledged children's lives better; they can improve upon making their management system to be more efficient; however that's quite a challenge in the face of today's world (although not impossible) comprised of so called giants like (pardon me for not naming, but that's the 1st name people will name around the world, is really not at all worth it & extremely corr...(as little as I have experienced); you can trust World Vision & that's what my personal experience with them proves.
