I'm not a big "Big Brother " fan so I have not followed the show religiously. But can anyone explain why Brian

.... won? As far as I observed he is the next best thing to an idiot. He didn't even know who William Shakespeare (the man who more or less created the modern English language) was! The only thing special about him is that he might be "special". Why the attraction?

I don't think it's snobbery to think with a little more life experience under his belt he'd be a better person... The issue I have with Brian is that he's staunchly stupid and defending his right to be stupid, that's when you have a problem on your hands. He's not very open to expanding his mind, and I think that's a bit of a rubbish role model...

He's a nice enough boy, but I think he played on the loveable dumbass angle a bit too much.

Of course all of this is moot cos there wasn't really a worthy contender for the crown... The twins are pretty much female version of Brian!

Regrettably and even more worryingly, we in Britain find idiots funny. The sad thing for Brian is that people laugh 'at' him because he's thick, not because he's pure entertainment.

Nobody with a gram of intelligence has ever come close to winning something like Big Brother. It's a modern day freak show of sorts.

How many of these people supporting the likes of Brian would actually be able to put up with him for more than 10 minutes in a real life situation? The same goes for the twins.

We like watching idiots because they are easy targets.

I'm drunk but will attempt to answer you as legibly as possible, although it will probably be a bit more blunt than I would usually word an answer.

Snobbery! Why is knowledge of literature a winning component for big brother? That's what you should ask yourself.

The attraction in my eyes is that Brian is the friend "you" (a typical British male/female) always wanted. He's kind, fun, supportive, generous, down to earth, modest etc. And what sets him apart from most of the others is that all these qualities are very genuine, which is shown through his consistency. At least i believe they are. You can't uphold a persona like that for 15 weeks, as shown by the other housemates' change over the time they were in the house.

It's all opinion, and you're entitled to yours, just find it a little ignorant by the fact that it's completey hippocritical, i'm not going to explain why because someone like yourself (judging by the question) would benefit alot from looking into why.

Not having a dig btw, just sick of class systems and snobbery. Why should one be judged on IQ or status, why not on who they are not what?

Open your mind for your own good.

    That is all.

Not everyone has brains - does that mean they should be excluded from everything? Who are you to judge and call someone you have never met an idot? Brian has personality, which is far more important than knowledge, he is sweet, genuine, caring and sensitive and, without realising it, extremely funny. He also has commonsense. Therefore he was the most entertaining in the house and a worthy winner.

The nice guy won. Brian is just a nice, gentle, ordinary guy. And the twins were worthy runners-up. They are slightly strange, and I must admit I couldn't understand a word they said. They were like a couple of birds twittering away. But quite endearing.

The twins didn't know who was Leonardo Da Vinci...and what is it Cus cus Sam said is a cheese...so all this make Brian look like a genius and the twins goes to university he doesn't.

I am so pleased that Brian won, he was the most considerate person in that house, the twins were the next. I am sure he will not let the win go to his head.

Brian is funny, honest and genuine! Oh and he has a good heart! isn't that more important than knowing who Shakespear is?

Sophie A - Wow drunk or not, excellent answer! You go girl! lmao

Brian said in his interview with Davina he knew who Shakespeare was.He just didn'tknow he wrote R& Juliet.

Given the choice between Brian & those hideous twins the duracell bunnies i reckon we all voted for the right person.
