when people ask a question, why do they not assign a best answer so it goes to vote?

They might not know which of the conflicting answers is correct. They might like so many that they can't choose.

Most likely however is that they looked at them and extracted the information they wanted but then did not have the common courtesy to go back and thank the people who wrote answers by choosing a best. I find it hard to believe that they really forgot to choose one.

Because some people asking questions are

new members and they dont know that they

get 3 point back if they select the best answer.

Some people donot care about the points as

they remain at level 1 since the beginning.

Some people just visit this Q&A section only

for fun and donot care about all these.

But there are so many people I have noticed who

are really helped immediately for their question

and there are so many people who really help

with their answers - this is something we should

not forget. You are doing pretty good at level 3

with 16% best answers and soon approaching

level 4, in seven months. Just keep it up dear.

Maybe some of them don't like any of the answers that they got.

maybe they saw the answer they wanted??

maybe they are too busy or forget
