i went to Orlando from the UK 2 weeks ago on holiday and i actually thought about doing the same thing as it seems a very easy place to live. i don't know why others are saying its a bad experience. if you are staying for two months rent a small condo or something which you can give back easily. the resort i stayed in had a thing where you could buy condos or rent them in the surrounding area. You may find it cheaper to find a place there because of the exchange rate. Dont know about getting the job but when i was going around Disneyland i was pretty sure that i saw a few posters or something about working there. should be a great experience either way. Although you'll need a car because things are quite far apart

I would say any job would help you, especially jobs that require customer service skill. A large portion of workers at Disney and/or Universal Studios are not characters or performers, but they are retail cashiers, ride attendants, food service workers (cooks, food prep, cashier), custodial, guest services, ticket sales, etc. So, you could get a job working in food service or retail. Any job that requires you to interact face-to-face with customers will probably help you in your goal to work at Disney World/Universal. So, if you were to work at Pizza Hut, then you could have food service, cashier, and server experience. (One, two, or all three.) Or if you worked at a clothing store, you'd have cashier and general customer service experience. So, any job that gets you experience in working with others, and dealing with customers is a good thing. Because Disney World and Universal Studios can be insanely busy. It's best to get experience now.

Go noto Disneys website and click on international jobs. My two friends worked at Disney and had the best experiences of their lives! You get to live at Disney and work for a year. They do pay a wage but its not a huge amount of money, but you get all your accomodation included in your stay.

U will have an amazing time trust me. My friends just wanna keep going back and back again. I only wish I had done it before settling down and deciding to get married and have a baby!

Never mind though, i get to go their as much as I can!

If you live in Ireland I'd say the first thing that you need to do is make sure that you can get a work visa, or green card to get on your way to becoming a citizen if that's what you want. After you have secured that aspect of things then you want to look into the company, starting with the internet site, see if you can find a spot that will let you know first if they're even hiring which most likely they are. The next question is what are they hiring for, and is it something that you're interested in. If so are you qualified for the position that they need filled? Another area to check is the local paper, which you can find online. If you haven't had any luck with finding the info. In the paper or on the internet find the phone # for their direct office and contact them that way. Ultimately you're going to want to talk to an actual person that has some authority if at all possible, also never take the first answer you get unless it's what you want. Know especially where you're so far away & not knowing what kind of work it is that you're looking for whether it's one that requires schooling or only requires commonsense you're going to want to have a well written resume with cover page especially if it's something that requires schooling. Even if it's something that doesn't you still want to look professional. So find the number to be able to contact the person in charge, and fill out the application and submit your' resume. Now allot of companies are having you apply online at their website, which is fine though like I said try and obtain a phone # to their main office that way you can make every effort to speak with someone in charge, that will enable you to show off your' personality and answer any questions from your' mouth instead of on paper. A good, and confident tone of voice is admired & allows you to get more than just a sheet of paper in front of them. That sheet of paper doesn't speak your' personality, it only gives them info. they need. I do believe you have an advantage though, you're coming from another country that right there says you're serious and not just job hopping.

    GOOD LUCK!

Living in Orlando and working at Disney are two of the worst experiences you will have in your life.. I know it seems fun when you come here on Vacation but after about two weeks the fun is OVER. Working at Disney sucks, it's much better to just get a pass and go as much as you like. Oh, and NO there is no affordable accommodation in Orlando at ALL.. but especially not near Disney!

The building in Disney to go and interview is called Central Casting. It's right across the street from the west side. It's a really big building, it's blue and it has mickey ears all around the top of the building.
