The wires used to connect solar and such?

THNN goes from the solar panel to the charge controller.

What kind of wire do I use between the controller and the battery and from the controller to the load?

Does it have to be THNN?

    I think you mean THHN or THWN. If the conductors are all in conduit, THWN is OK. You need the "W" rating in outdoor conduit. If they are exposed, they should be of a type rated for outdoor exposed use. THHN will be OK for wiring inside the wiring, but TW or THW would be all right too.
