VERY difficult riddle- are you up for the challenge?
You hike 10 km into the Sawtooth Mtns. (Idaho) in late June. You find an alpine lake. It appears that you can see the bottom. At it's widest point it's 95 m, and at it's longest point it's 455 m. You wan't to make a depth profile of the lake but there are some conditions:
1. No motors.
2. No electronics
3. You may not get wet.
4. You may not leave shore
5. You must carry all your equipment in, spend 2 nights, and three days.
Good luck!

Take a fishing pole and tie a heavy weight to the end of the line.
Put a large bobber a foot away from the weight.
Make sure the bobber can rise along the line as the weight will sink (when you cast it in)
Make sure the bobber needs some force to rise up the string... (not completely attached to the line and not just a loose knot, but a slip knot that needs to be "pulled to move)
Now cast the weight and bobber into the lake and wait for a few minutes, so you are sure the bobber it at the top and the weight is at the bottom. Now reel in the line slowly so as to not pull the bobber back towards the weight!!!
Not so hard Next?!?!
