Is anyone, besides me, getting a bit sick of the level of discourse on this forum? I?
Are most people who post here Americans? It appears so. I am an unabashed liberal, and I don't like Bush or the Neocons. I think that they are ruining/have ruined our standing as a nation. However, I don't publish diatribes against him or others.
We are, after all, all in the same boat. Let's tone it down a bit, okay?
Daniel L. You make a valid point. Thanks for the input. I'll try to avoid my error in future.
Is Neocon name calling?
I said that "I think that they are ruining/have ruined our standing as a nation." That is not the same as saying they have.

I am a Vietnam Veteran. I have not, in this post, or any other, called for or advocated any violent act.
It actually scares me, the hatred for the left, from the right, and the hatred for the right, from the left. I am amazed, and saddened.

I can understand that it is play for you, But, in my opinion, this is far to serious for play. We have, after all, lost over 3,700 American soldiers in Iraq. That is not something to be taken lightly. By the way, I know whereof I speak, in the year I was in Vietnam, we lost an average of 47 Americans a day.

I understand what you're saying and basically agree. I think the flaming rhetoric could be toned down to something more sensible by both libs and cons. At least half of the comments are posted by trolls intending to insult and disparage others.

You're right. It is often difficult for children to see the consequences of their actions. And, I find this to be true of people who still follow Bush and the Neocons. I don't feel I publish diatribes against him or others, just their policies and the consequences of those policies which we will have to bear. And, the reactions of Bush followers who whine about that criticism is rather childish. We do have that right don't we? Isn't that considered legitimate criticism? I think the consequences of his actions in Iraq and in the world are going to be manifested in ways that aren't even seen by us in the U.S yet. And, I can guarantee they won't be good for the country at all.
BTW, if you still follow Bush's policies, then you are a Neo Con. Because the policies that he is implementing are right out of the Neo Con play book. You cannot deny your Neo Con predilections if you still follow and agree with Bush's policies. So I don't know why some of you Bush followers are so upset about being called a Neo Con if you advocate the same policies of a Neo Con. If you are critical of Bush and disagree with him, then you may be conservative but you are not necessarily a Neo Con.

Um, no offense bud, I'm an American too, but... The man who's responsible for nearly a million deaths worldwide now for his oil game is really not someone I feel I need to tone down criticism toward. Theoretically this place should be a place for people to ask QUESTIONS about politics, but instead this section of the site is nothing more than a "If libs are so smart how come you guys are evil?" or "How is Bush not like Hitler?" ... If we ever were to restore this to it's proper use I would gladly give up the diatribes... right now, it's a place for angry pseudo-militants to fight each other with text... oh well.
Though arvis really does have a point, we can discuss politics, even if we don't use it as a Q&A site per se, without the verbal abuse. Hopefully all of us can try to go on for the rest of our time here without using abusive phrases.

Civil skills are not a priority in the raising of this generation, though some have the skills, its not in the majority. Parents are either too busy working to set rules at home, or they compensate by bribing their kids instead of raising them. Meanwhile, you bring up this issue of discourse then you blast us "neocons" with your rhetoric. If I get hit by a roadside bomb driving to work then I'll jump on the Bush-bash bandwagon.

This Answers is a way for all of us to vent. I think there should be an area for adult discussion but this surely isn't it. But, hey, it's fun. No one mind gets changed, we can scream at the moron who just posted the "Why do all libs...?" or "Is it true Bush and the neocons..?"
Just give as good as you get and don't take it too seriously.

You don't publish diatribes, yet you use words like neocons, say they've ruined the nation. Uh, doesn't that mean you just published a diatribe?
Fair nuff. ^_^

My tone has been good, but you saying you dislike me, and calling me a Neocon and accusing me of ruining your standing as a nation and then ask me to calm down. OKAY? Right, gotcha!

I agree, I would love to stick to the real issuses, but I have a problem with the extreme Left, name calling and wishing bodily harm to our president, It's your right to disagree with the president as an American and as a Soldier I fought for that right, but this flat out hatred by the left, of name calling, disrespectful Screen icons and wishing our president bodily harm or worse, is uncalled for and UN-American, disagree and healtly debate is good, but flat pour hate and comparing our president to Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, ETC, is uncalled for.

Are you saying we shouldn't call an idiot an idiot?
Every time Bush opens his mouth he proves it.
