Graphing Calculator?

get a TI-89 Titanium. It is a really good calculator that get do just about anything you want. It will take time to get used to, but its totally worth it.

I had a TI-83 from high school till my junior year of college. I am in mechanical engineering at UT and my Vibrations class required the TI-89 for eigenvalues and eigenvectors. I hated the switch, but after awhile i realized it was an awesome calculator.

A TI-83 will do almost everything you will ever need except for some Calculus stuff.

A TI-89 will do everything you will ever need, and it's screen looks better.

I suggest a TI-89 if you are going to major in a mathematics field, otherwise a TI-83

Well was there a certain kind you needed to have? I know that my daughter needed a texas instruments ti83 for this year so we tried walmart recently and they were sold out .. This calculator usually runs around 100 dollars but we went to radioshack and they are offering a rebate of 30 dollars so it would only be 70 . They are good calculators and you will get much use out of them!

The TI-89 will DO calculus, so many beginning calculus instructors will not allow you to use it and would prefer the TI-84 (or 83) instead. Check with your instructor.

I have the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. It's great! You can get it at Office Depot. It graphs, has a perodic table of elements, and helps you with math and science. It even has games! It's really cool.

Texas Instruments are great calculators, but I would advise you to speak to your teacher and see which calculator will be used by him/her. This way it is easier to follow and get instructions.
