you can recolor right away... keep in mind its not very good for your hair but you can do it. also you have to find a color that will BLEND well with the color it is now... it can be tricky. your best bet is consult your salon!

By the sound of it you had the stripping and recoloring done by a pro. I don't know your hair or the whole story, but the stylist who did it does. She is the best person to ask. She knows what she did and she knows what condition your hair is in. She may be able to suggest a few simple solutions. Stripping and recoloring is a serious service and most people's hair couldn't take doing more coloring. Is it too dark now? It may just be a matter of getting use to it (that was a major change I'm assuming) plus it may look alot different after a few washings because hair color tends to fade quick on hair that is stripped.
As a stylist myself I'd much rather you call and tell me you have a problem then trying to fix it yourself or paying someone else to fix it. I want you to be happy and if it is so bad you don't wan to go out in public-it may be apparent to everyone that the color just isn't working for you. If you are uncomfortable seeing the same stylist I understand but know that anyone who tries to fix this won't have first hand knowledge of the situation and in trying to help may make things worse through no fault of their own.

You maybe could do it right now. Just do some tests. Cut a couple test strands and see what color they turn when you recolor them. If it looks like s*** then I would rethink it.
