I seek out those I trust for advice and counsel, I pray, I journal. Sometimes you make the best decisions you can and go from there, sometimes you go down the wrong path, or doors close so you have to adjust. The best way to find peace is to be at peace with yourself and who you are.

When I was 16 I was suddenly thrust out into the world to make my own way; as a scared and naive young girl this was a very hard thing. Fortunately, I was blessed with enough intelligence to know I had some hard choices to make.
I adopted a "live and let live" attitude in life. I vowed to always tell the truth, and to ask others not to lie to me.
I chose not to judge others, and I asked others not to judge me. I lived my life the best way I knew how, when I didn't know something, I watched, listened, and learned.
The greatest lesson I learned
No one ever learned anything when the only sound they could hear was their own voice.
I meditate each evening on the day that has just passed and ask myself if I could have done anything differently or better. I try never to harm anyone and I try not to be judgmental.
Now that I am 66 I look back and know that i was often wrong, but also that when I found out I was wrong I made corrections to that behavior. I still despise liars, and to this day refuse to have anything to do with, or listen to anyone who has lied to me in the past. I shunned one woman for over 2 years for lying to my best friend about me. And, strangely enough, someone asked me to please accept that woman's apology, and I said "Aggie? Aggie who?" And, I honestly could not remember who they were talking about.
