Any tips on a wedding speach?
Need ideas on a best man wedding speech. I want to incorporate poker into this speech (using poker terms to compare to marriage, comparinge poker hands to the bride/grooms life, etc).

i was maid of honor at my best friends wedding two weeks ago... the best man gave a great speech that likened life to the board game of life, with the taxes, and the cars and all that.... and then added that clearly pete (the groom) was winning because he got allison to love him and agree to marry him.
whatever you say i would urge you to be funny, not make it TOO long, and make it from the heart. tell them how hapy you are for their union and that they found someone to complete them, and thn throw in a joke here or there. don't get too drunk... it makes things bad.

Just remember that a wedding is a serious occassion and that you have been given a position of respect. Keep your comments short and in good taste. People will remember your words long after the reception is over. Make a good impression. You could read a short poem or a passage from the bible. You don't have to be funny, just be respectful to everyone that is in attendance, both young and old. Congratulations on being chosen as the "best man".
