If you try to bring a prohibited item on an airplane, will the TSA give you a public spanking in the airport?
I'm going to be flying to Oregon later this month, and my friend told me that if you get caught trying to bring a prohibited item through security, the T.S.A. will give you a public, bare-bottom spanking with a paddle right in the middle of the airport! Is this true? He said it's a post-9/11 security measure. I haven't flown anywhere since before 9/11 but he has and he said he saw someone getting a public, bare-bottom paddling in an airport last year!

Absolutely not, they would probably just confiscate it. Back in May 2005 the T.S.A. caught me with a pair of scissors in my suitcase (i had forgotten they were their). They did confiscate them, but they didn't arrest me or accuse me of terrorism or anything. Now if you look middle-eastern it might be a different story...
Also, if it were anything major, like a knife, firearm or explosive they would probably arrest you. Also they are probably more strict about prohibited items with that liquid bombing incident in Britain last July. I have flown since last July but haven't been caught with any prohibited items.
I've answered a few of your other questions and it sounds like your friend is quite a liar. No offense, but you sound rather gullible.

This is NOT true
The spankings are NOT public --- they are a privately dispensed "corrective action" !! Your friend must have
come across one of these that HAD to be done in public
because of the "overflow" of clients that had backed up on
that particular day (must have been at one of those Holiday "rush" times) !!
You can always tell where this little "teaching booth" is located for it is usually very near a long line of professional looking -- well dressed people standing in a long line -- grinning from ear to ear and kind of --- well --- figgeting !!!
The administrators of this department of TSA can always be recognized--- for they wear a particular uniform --- the guys usually have "jackboots" and little leather hats --- and the females wear short black skirts and fishnets --- all are wearing the little logo patch on their sleeve with the little cat-of-nine-tails emblem in the middle !!!
So be sure not to be carrying any "prohibited" materials --- I mean, God forbid that you "forget" about that nailfile in your briefcase !!! Because, then, you'd have to --- stand in line for your "session" and get the willies whacked out of you !!!

no tsa doesn't spank you, but the people in the security line behind you that are being held up because you were a tool and tried to bring a prohibited item on, may give you a thorough beat down.

Yes it's true. They use a paddle made from that board with the little holes (like you hang tools on in a garage) so it really pinches when they hit you with it. If you scream that it hurts they hit harder until you be quiet.
You ought to try it.

Unfortunately the TSA have had to abandon this policy because of the number of passengers who were standing in the middle of the concourse waving prohibited items above their heads and yelling "I've been bad! I've been so naughty! I have to be punished!"
So now they just take you out and shoot you.

No, they probably wont do that, but the people behind you might
TSA probably will deny you access and make you miss your flight or confiscate the prohibited item(s) and throw them away.
My advice, dont bring anything your not supposed to bring and you wont get any problems....

Too funny! A friend of mine used to work for the TSA--I will ask her. When I flew last May to Connecticut, they confiscated my jar of peanut butter, but the man didn't offer me a spanking. Darn.
