Because of "experts".
Because our society requires people to substantiate their experiences with some valid proof, and they disrespect just a plain, yet truthful anwer.
A singular researcher can post his research and then the followup story will be disproving it because of "experts"... those brilliant people with no name, no background. And the funny thing is that most of the people love to believe the experts.
Even religios organizationsteach us that none of us are worthy to talk to God directly...oh no, only those in a "choosen" power place can talk to him. Yet God is already within us and cannot be taken out, and we can always talk with God, within our own being!
We are taught not to think for ourselves, and so certainly not find the answers within.
Yet the real answers are always there inside of each of us, if we choose to listen and trust.
Even here on Yahoo, just below, it says "Know your source?"
So we have created a nightmare of "authority" requirements and who really knows, for all of it is just opinions! We learn that we cannot be trusted to know anything....unless outside of ourself.
But then .....that is the biggest lie in our World!

Well, it depends on your point of view. For myself I see it as a little of both. By accepting Christ and the Holy Scriptures I take something from the outside and make it my own. But, this is really all done inside me. As I read and study and observe I relate these truths internally and externally.
Other problems could be considered more external. Even if what we learn can help us deal with them can take on a more physical realm. You have a boss or a co worker that drives you nuts you could choose not to internalize the issue or you could confront them and that is to a greater degree outside oneself.

Very good question. I am giving you a star. I think that even if someone at work, friend, foe or family creates the problem within you, it is still inside you and only yourself can find the answer. This question made me think.

I don't , not with all of them at least. The answer to some of my mental issues come from within. I just have to search and find them. The rest I need medication for. Without that medication I would be a hopeless suicidal nutcase. I have other problems and issues that come from within or without. Some come from people judging me without knowing me. Some from not knowing how to socialize very well with others. Others I have no Idea what the problem is yet , I just know I have one. These problems are harder for me to find the answers to and I don't know weather to look within or to look without for aid.
If you mean do I think the answers would come from God. I do not believe that. I am more of the "Crom" belief. That he lets us solve are problems or get in them ourselves with little to no aid from him.
Edit:
Misrepresented myself there. I believe that we can find answers in the bible. Just not to expect any from God. He has already given us all the answers he can. We have to do the rest ourselves.

Because sometimes it does, and what problem are you talking about? There are too many to reply for. You need to be more direct with your question than general.

Because its true. Positive attitudes, confidence, self-esteem, loving yourself and such is all good. But we are physicals being in a material world. We must acquire things from outside of ourselves in order to survive. This simple fact of life is oblivious to our feelings about ourselves.

It is actually helpful to have a group of people to help you out when you need it.
That said, when your head of this support group is an invisible sky man, you run into problems.

Probably because it relieves them of the responsibility for looking inside themselves.

Only I can solve my own problems. The answers are with me as its my life.

Because it makes them happy and makes it so they don't have to do anything about it.
It's a waste. People need to take their lives into their own hands!
