So Sorry I Never Knew You
Eighteen years we lived together
You're my Father; I'm your daughter
You was the stranger I never knew
Now you are dead and gone and I am blue
Your love for me was strangely cold
The years flew by and you grew old
Then you left without a goodbye
And I ask the Lord, Why? Oh, Why?
Now I am filled with anger and pain
You are my Father; I bore your name
As a child you tore me down
And threw my spirit on the ground
I'm asking if life is just a game
Wondering if life is all in vain
You gave me things, but not your love
Life for me has been very tough
Just a stranger you were to me
Looks like that is all you'll be
Who you are, I haven't a clue
So sorry I never knew you

I am not going to take this one apart. I think it is well done, and it is obvious that you are improving. Keep up the good work.

It is beautiful, but sad. A daughter is surprised that she loves and misses her father in spite of it all.
