Does ordonez stand a chance to win MVP over AROD??

Ordonez has a 355 batting average 126 rbis and 26 home runs! He also on has 1 E on the season!

Arod has 52 HR 140 RBIs and a 318 batting average!! He has 11 E's on the season!

Does Arod have it in the bag or will it come down to who gets into the playoffs to be the deciding factor??

Update:

the e was just part of the stats i threw in there not a big deal guys!!

I really think it will depend on which team get's to the play-offs......

if the Tigers get there then it makes sence for the MVP to go to Magglio.....

Same with A-Rod if the Yanks get to the post season.....

towards the middle of the season yes magglio had a chance. but arods pulled way too far away from him. forget the errors since you have to get errors being in the hot corner. but its the numbers that matter. 2 of the 3 for a triple crown and a batting average over 300 is more than enough for arod to get the mvp. plus who can deny the chants of mvp at yankee stadium

It depends on how the voters will go. If the voters go flashy, they'll choose A-Rod and his 52+ homers. If not, then it could be very close. It will probably depend on how the Tigers finish.

Then again, if you take stats out of the equation and take the title for what it is, most valuable player on a team, then it is A-Rod hands down. He's kept them in games they should have lost this year and he's the reason why they have the lead in the wild card.

Yeah Mags stands a chance, but not a very good one.

Just FYI on the stats: Of course A-Rod would have more errors -- he has more chances at third and especially with pitchers like Petitte and Clemens that keep the ball down. But Mags is a good rightfielder. Makes me wish he was still here in the Chi.

Ortiz had similar stats to what Arod has now, but he didn't win.

While they were leading the division, I would have voted for him over Arod (I believe that the Yankee pitching situation over-emphasizes Arod's contribution.)

I am still not convinced that the Yankees couldn't make the playoffs with Rodriguez's contributions.

That being said, to me, the Indians would not be where they are without Grady Sizemore.

    1. A-Rod plays an infield position which he will obviously make more errors than Magglio who plays the outfield.

    2. Magglio barely has the lead in one stat which is average. He leads Ichiro by .04 of a point which he could lose any day now. ( .355 to .351 )

    3. A-Rod has 22 stolen bases to Magglio's 3.

    4. A-Rod has more game winning and game ending hits/home runs than Magglio.

    5. A-Rod stats are simply better than Magglio's across the board making this a forgone conclusion.

Anyone who actually thinks A-Rod is not got to win this year's AL MVP should have his or her head examined period.

When you said "He also on has 1 E on the season!" for Ordonez, that's not a factor for him. He's an outfielder. ARod will obviously have more errors than him.

Not unless the Tiggers come roaring back and take the wildcard spot from the Yankees (or maybe win the division), and Mags plays a role in such a resurgence.

No its that easy.....AROD has made history this year fastest player to 500 career Home Runs...He has more game winning and game ending HR's....NO WAY A-ROD has it in the bag

If the Tigers don't make the play-offs it will be A-rod. As for the E. It is not uncommon for outfielders to have that few E. For example, Bernie Williams had one year that he had a 1.000 fielding %. Meaning 0 E.

Those are mvp numbers any other year a-rod has been the star of the year.... I like ordonez he will win mvp someday possibly even this year... but I dont think so
