Pool winterizing...? Vinyl hung on a steel frame?

I have an 18' round pool..an Intex.....vinyl body hung on a steel frame....I was wondering if I can leave it up all winter.....

Drained, cleaned, water proofed and tarped..the pool is not a hard wall pool.....has a soft liner...

I was wondering if I can leave it up assembled ...like I said...cleaned....covered with a tarp...has anyone tried it?

That would be fine. The only concerns you may have depending where you are, is snow load and freezing. Freezing isn't usually a big problem. You just have to drain your pump, filter and some of the pipes. Snow load is purely a mechanical concern. The worst; it may tear your tarp.

When I was a kid my parents had a pool like this. My old man bought some kind of big inflatable pillow at the pool store. It sat in the center of the pool on top of the water. It made a hump in the center so the snow melt would drain off the pool.

I remember it worked pretty well. One year the cover got a tear and he had to replace it. He was real ticked off about replacing that cover in the cold of winter.
