"There is no Atheists in Hell. They all believe now."?
Are people really that ignorant? I received this as part of a response to a previous question of mine.
Atheists, by definition, do not believe. If they did, they would not be atheists. Why can't people understand? And why, after acting like this, do they claim atheists are rude and narrow-minded?
Also, why can't people conjugate the verb forms "to be" correctly?
I very carefully didn't group all Christians with that phrasing.

There is no Atheists, man I love it.
Is = singular people, are = plural...
But I digress.
The author is correct, there are no atheists in hell, nor are their Christians, or Muslims, or Buddhists.
Life is hell, struggle is hell, death is hell...
But yes we are rude, because we question what they have been taught. We are rude because we don't just roll over and say, "you're right, how could I have been so blind?" We are rude because we dare...
to believe that religion is the opiate of the masses, that it is only to make you feel better about the inevitable, that it has been used for centuries and millennia to control the population, that it is the word of the rich and powerful, but not adhered to by those same men that laid down the laws.
Ah well, if they are right, and I am wrong, at least the company where we are going will be much better.

Some atheists *are* rude and narrow minded, so are some Christians, apparently.
I understand your statement, I just think others have a hard time with it. I don't claim to 'get' atheists, just as they don't get 'religious people' , but you have a right to your 'non-beliefs'.
FYI, i was raised a Jehovah's Witness, I was taught if people didn't want the literature or to talk about religion, to say, 'Well you have a good day" and be on my way. That could be why I stay WELL away from Atheists! ;)

In my believe, Hell doesn't exist as a place, but an event... and you cannot judge, as a human, who is going to be in Hell or who is going to Heaven.
In my defense, I see a lot of atheists (not all) saying things like Christians are stupid and "imaginary friends" and that is considered to be rude. Narrow-minded, I disagree with that. I know we all have our own reasons for believing what they believe. I see why Atheists are Atheist, and I see why Christians are Christians. There is rudeness on both ends, no doubt.
Source(s): Oh yeah... and those rediculous questions, "Do you believe in God?" Everyone gets a fair amount of good and bad ratings. I think its so funny... but thats just me. - Simon TLv 71 decade ago
Yes, I saw that one.
Read my response to your question and guess which group this particular poster falls into.
My impression is that you could not have an intelligent debate with this person over the colour of grass, because they lack the first requirement.

Maybe all one need do is read the questions, comments, and answers posted by some Atheist, to see why some feel they are rude and narrow minded.

It's just circular reasoning. I wouldn't pay much attention to it. If some of the Christians aren't willing to hear us out concerning faith, what makes them think we'll do the same?

Yeah, I saw that response and was forced to give it a thumbs down. Something I try to abstain from.
Some theists, especially Christians, use condemnation and judgment to try to prove their point.
What's funny, though, is that they will turn around and say that very thing is against their beliefs.

Aside from the grammar that is a pretty profound observation. You should heed the words of that wise person.
If you do not understand it, it is saying that when an atheist dies and is sentenced to hell for eternity, he is no longer an athiest because he has experienced God and His holy judgment. Just too late to do anything about it at that point!

The atheistic corollary: "There are no Christians after death. They have all simply become decaying organic matter."
