  • Yahoo Answers, anyone else getting bizarre 999 error messages?

When you try to submit an answer to a question?

Just curious if this is widespread or just me.

  • Obama ran on Change, you voted for change?

Then how is surrounding himself with Washington insiders and former Clinton staff members "change"?

Sounds like more of the same to me.

    You say?

  • So, how many people now think scamming & spamming are the way to make it?

Anyone else appalled by the number of spammers/scammers that are popping up everywhere?

Look you idiots, times are tough for everyone and convincing desperate people to spend money they can't afford to spend on your crappy offers is downright horrible.

And the "help" sites that are nothing but Google adsense links sites are just as bad.

Get a life people and try finding legitimate ways to earn a living.

Karma is an evil wheel, and I hope you all get yours.

Anyone else agree with me? Or I am the only one sick to death of the crap?????

  • Non-Americans, can I ask you a question please?

When you first started hanging around Answers were you completely shocked by how ignorant, lazy and shiftless the majority of the posters seem to be here?

    Or, did you already know?

Please don't think all Americans are like this. We aren't. Many of us, work hard, get educated and pay our bills on time.

But, the idiots are taking control of the asylum, from Washington on down.

Any of you have room for a thin, hard working, family of 4?

  • How many of us see the writing on the wall in America?

I read this questions and responses and I have came to the conclusion that the majority of our fellow citizens are so clueless that there is no way they will be working & paying taxes in the new economy.

So, I see a lot more work and huge tax bills coming towards us dumb enough to pay our bills, save our money and work.

    Your thoughts?

  • Let's theorize here for a minute: what would you do?

Let's just play this out a little bit. And I am interested into seeing how bad, how fast this could plummet.

The federal reserve is flooding the world with currency, in order to try and bring stability to the markets. Never mind that they have been using this same strategy for a year and it hasn't worked.

So, rather than get into the whys, lets just look at facts.

The more of our currency in the world, the less it is worth.

    Our purchasing dollars are worthless.

    So, prices on basics skyrocket.

I'm figuring the worst that can happen is that prices go sky high, leaving millions unable to afford the basics like milk, bread, grains, etc.

So, my question is, how long could your family last, if the grocery stores were either empty, or milk was $50 a gallon. How long?

A day, a week, a month? Figure out how to live off the land?

    Anyone?

  • Favorite event of the year?

    Finally, it is here!

We are expecting our first "winter storm" and it is bringing my "favorite" early winter event: the over hype of weather!

Depending on the channel, the "reporters" are predicting anywhere from 2-4 inches of snow, then up to a half inch of freezing rain.

If history is any predictor, we will get from nothing, to a blizzard (probably nothing).

So, "in your neck of the woods", do you think the weather forecasters are doing you a favor by over hyping storms, or are just fear mongering?

  • Why is the solution never hard work?

People losing their homes, not paying their bills, walking away.

Why is it that the solution is never, work? If your bills are more than your income, you take a second (or third or fourth) job, or find a roommate. There has been many times in my life that I worked 2 or 3 jobs and was going to school and living with friends to get by.

What has happened to the American work ethic? As an employer I can tell you it has left the country, along with a lot of our jobs.

So, what excuses can you come up with for not working?

  • Have you listened to the warnings about being "prepared" for an emergency?

Our government has been telling us, over and over, to assemble a "kit" and "be prepared" in the event of a natural, or other, disaster emergency? Are you even close?

Do you have at least 3 days food and water available right now?

    Why/why not?

  • Do you think your America job is in jeopardy, or safe?

and before you answer, keep the following in mind.

Over the past 5 years, hundreds of big companies have cut thousands of jobs. I'm sure when you hear the news, you think, "those poor saps". But do you realize the flak that these job cuts cause?

Here is a partial list of companies that have announced either downsizing, or off shoring THIS YEAR ALONE.

HP, Kodak, Pfizer, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Hershey's, MascoTech, Dell (moved support to India), Best Buy, GMAC financing, Bank of America, Cisco, Krogers, Farmer Jack, multiple management levels at Home Depot, WalMart.

Now, realize that it is a proven fact that for every one good paying job that leaves your area, your local area also loses 3-5 outside jobs. Jobs that depended on the cash from the above companies employees buying things.

Hair salons, grocery stores, retail stores, accountants, doctors, dentists, lawyers, gas station attendants.

So I ask you, is YOUR job really "safe" right now? And why do you think so?

  • Christians, real question here, please help me understand.?

Time and time again I see references like, "Jesus created man" "Jesus is God", "Jesus is the supreme being".

As I am a reformed Christian and studied different denominations (long story), I am at a loss as to what flavor of Christianity preaches that Jesus BECAME God after his death, not that he is separate from God. Those churches I attended never taught that.

So, if you believe Jesus IS God, what denomination teaches that (versus the trinity?).

Thanks for your help to increase my knowledge of this world's religious beliefs.

  • Did/do you have wisdom teeth? And were they pulled?

I am 40 and have had only 1 wisdom tooth form. It has been primarily inactive for the past 10+ years (just at the surface, it is small and is fine left alone). And there is only the possibility of 1 other ever forming, and it is lying dormant.

So, I just read this incredibly interesting article on the evolution of human teeth formation at it led me to wonder if I am a freak or is there more like me?

And secondly, isn't this proof of human evolution that the fundies love to say doesn't exist?

Here is the link to the article, if you care.

Here are our choices for what to do with the ball:

    1. Bestow it, give it to Cooperstown

    2. Brand it, with an asterisk then give it to Cooperstown

    3. Banish it, he will launch it into space.

  • Kathy Griffin rocks, here is proof!?

The uptight amoral Hollywood sect is cutting Kathy's remarks upon winning her emmy (way to go Kath!)

"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus," an exultant Griffin said, holding up her statuette. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now."

Asked about her speech backstage a short time later, an unrepentant Griffin added, "I hope I offended some people. I didn't want to win the Emmy for nothing."

I just love her, she says what she means and isn't p.c. ever!

This would be a huge step for Atheists if the darn awards committee actually let it be shown, so of course they aren't.

So, do you love this, or will you condemn her to hell?

  • Has anyone seen an hour by hour timeline of events: re: Maddy McCann?

I am not speaking of the generic timelines posted by the English media. What I am looking for is something with actual times included that includes the following.

Last time a non-family member saw Maddy alive at the resort.

Time parents fed children, which is in direct correlation to above.

Time parents put kids down to sleep.

Time it took kids to fall asleep

Time parents left to go to dinner with friends.

Verified time(s) parents left the table to check on kids. It has been stated that they "frequently" went back to check.

Anybody seen such a thing? I am sure the police have questioned the McCanns extensively concerning this. Considering the absense of a publized timeline, makes me feel that the parents are probably involved.

How about eyewitness reports of seeing Maddy prior to bedtime? Again, I searched and can't find.

    Anyone? Anywhere?

  • Do you believe your god punishes people with illnesses and hardships?

Mainly because they don't believe in your god, or your flavor?

Then how do you come to grips with the fact that people, good moral, nice people, within your church or religion struggle with the same things???

Things like cancer, children dying in accidents, acts of nature or war? How can you justify saying, "an atheist I know has incurable cancer given to him by god".

I truly am curious if anyone can explain this whacked out thought process to me?

  • Need opinions on the following occurance!?

This morning a dove flew into our office (we open doors vs. use air conditioning as often as possible), ran into 2 windows and fell stunned to the floor. Picked him (her?) up and laid down outside, was still breathing.

About a half-hour later, dove still laying there, still breathing. A half hour after that, dove gone, we assume flew away.

So, good or bad omen, would love your thoughts and the reasoning behind them.

    Thanks!
