Let's theorize here for a minute: what would you do?
Let's just play this out a little bit. And I am interested into seeing how bad, how fast this could plummet.
The federal reserve is flooding the world with currency, in order to try and bring stability to the markets. Never mind that they have been using this same strategy for a year and it hasn't worked.
So, rather than get into the whys, lets just look at facts.
The more of our currency in the world, the less it is worth.
Our purchasing dollars are worthless.
So, prices on basics skyrocket.
I'm figuring the worst that can happen is that prices go sky high, leaving millions unable to afford the basics like milk, bread, grains, etc.
So, my question is, how long could your family last, if the grocery stores were either empty, or milk was $50 a gallon. How long?
A day, a week, a month? Figure out how to live off the land?
Anyone?
Well, I received pretty much the answers I thought I would.
Only 1 that is actually doing anything, a few that at least are smart enough to open themselves to the reality and most are ostriches that will think about it tomorrow.
It is one minute to tomorrow folks and the government has been on tv for years telling us to prepare for a disaster.
What, did you think that only meant a hurricane?
And for Double D, actually sir, I do. And what I don't know how to do, I will figure it out.
Good luck to us all.

A friend of mine had a dream and in the dream the shelves at the store were empty with only one or two items per shelf. There were no supplies to be purchased. She is very spiritual and felt that this dream was prophetic. I know that it is already financially hard for me and my family. I shudder to think what will happen if things come to that. I find it too terrifying to dwell on.

The American continent has provided human occupation for thousands of years, all successfully living without the Federal Reserve System or indeed a central bank.
However if you fear the worst you could seek independance by investigating the following in the order presented:
Food - Learn to Hunt / Farm & Stock Pile Tin Foods
Energy - Get some Solar Panels & Stock Pile Solid Fuels
Protection - Stock Pile Fire Arms / Light Weapons
Currency: Stock Pile Solid Silver Coins
Shelter - Build a fortfied rural house
Besides if you think the USA might collapse or hyperinflate, there are many other countries which will be fine. We have airplanes and global awareness this time around so if you don't like the look of things just leave.

Class war-fare my money is on the legal citizen majority eliminating rule & control of the FEW!
Our form of Fascist capitalism and the manner of which "globalization" is done to only favor the few IS against the will of the people in majority of this planet.
The sooner the majority organize to take rule & control over money/busines/govt in a shared effort the less pain & suffering will take place. Of/by/for the legal citizen majority whom shall have equal say of the society we live in and how things are done.
No pain NO gain!!!
I have all ready lasted 7 out of the past 13 years with no job no income resisting our current failed system, waiting for the rest to get motivated for the right changes for a better society in USA.

Easiest answer would be to stop buying. During the depression many survived on canned and powdered milk products or did without. People replaced sugar with honey and grew "Victory Gardens" in thier yards for food.
People are resourceful, if worse came to worse we can manage for long periods of time.
There are many out there whom still practice the old ways. How to hunt, farm, forage for food, and make clothing. A gun would sure be helpful though.

It will be mass chaos with violence and starvation. It will be survival of the most violent criminals without value for human life. Then eventually they will also starve, because we have depended on everything but ourselves. Do you know how to make bread from grains? Can you make shoes from a cow? Do you know how to go back to the old ways of life? No, and none of us do.

Yes the federal reserve is doing that, however the mortgage crisis is removing money from the system and will act as a deflationary.

If you really want to know, take a short trip to Zimbabwe, it's worked so well over there.
