Mommies...this ones a question regarding fetal movement or quickening-please advise?
Hi.Im 16 weeks pregnant and had my last ultrasound at 9 weeks which showed everything was fine. Then I visited my doctor after a month and she said evrything was fine.I had already felt fluttering or quickening when I visited my doc and she told me that was my baby moving in me!I was delighted but that was around the 12th week or so.I felt baby move at week 11 and the movement was felt sporadically till week 13.But I havnt felt those 'butterflies' ever since. After week 13 till now ie; week 16 I havnt felt a thingthough my tummy has swelled slightly.Im worried. Is this normal? Please advise.

You're doing just fine. trust your doctor. Your baby will be perfect.

Don't worry too much as long as your going to your appointments and your Dr. is telling you everything is fine it is. Your baby has a lot of room to move around in your uterus atm and that is probably why you aren't feeling anything. Once you are further along you will feel that baby all the time, but don't expect it to be a regular thing until your about 18 to 20 weeks. If your still worried you can always go to the Dr. and ask them to check your baby just to put your mind to rest. Good luck!

You have mommy intuition and if you're concerned that's what the medical professionals are there for. I was once informed whilst I pregnant with my first to name ANYTIME whatever did not appear proper. If there may be much less fetal motion name the healthcare professional and they'll do a non-pressure scan to peer the infants motion. I had this performed and it seems she was once relocating mainly I simply wasn't feeling they all for a few cause. I am definite the whole lot is exceptional, however you'll suppose a lot greater with the assurance of the healthcare professional!

I know it's hard, but try not to worry. At this early in the stage, the movements are sporadic and some you may not feel. Also, if your baby might be active during at night when you sleep, and during the day, when you are active, this might lull him/her into sleep. Sometimes, I was able to feel the baby move if I drank something sweet, or ate something sweet. I would lie on my side, and switch sides to see if I could get the little kid to move.
If you're really really worried, I would call your OB and talk to the nurse. Ask her if you can pop on by and have her check the heart beat with the doppler.

Movements are often not felt at all until 16 weeks or later. I would not worry too much if you feel well. If it were me I would probably go into the doctor and get him to do a stethoscope check of the baby's heart beat. When you hear the little heart pumping away, you will feel better. Mommies have to be calm and reassured so go see your doc to check on the heart beat. Good luck!

if you look in my profile i asked a very similar question not long ago. i was worried too. I didn't feel movement for 11 days and then on the 12 day the baby kicked me so hard i almost doubled over from shock.
Try and relax and stop thinking about it. it stresses you out more. Your baby is still small and does not have regular movements yet. Soon but not yet.
If you are still concerned (understandable) consult your doctor and try to get earlier appointment to hear heart beat.
gl to you

yes it is normal, for one thing the swelling is just your uterus growing for your baby and not feeling your baby move is fine. s/he may move while your asleep or the plcenta may have moved to the front of the belly it is nothing to worry about. i am 27 weeks and sometimes my husband, mother, etc. feel the baby move when they have a hand on my stomach but i don't feel a thing. another factor (this is me) is that you might be chuncky ( i am) and the extra "stuff" on you stomach is preventing you from feeling it don't worry about 18 weeks it will be moving alot i promise.

i didn't feel a thing with my baby until 21 weeks. he's kicking up a storm right now and i'm 30 weeks along. i actually saw my tummy move.
as long as the doctor can hear the baby's heartbeat you're fine.

Yeah, I felt movement around week 13 and have only just really starting feeling it again this week (18 weeks). Bubs is still small and he/she only has to move a little and he/she is no longer kicking where you can feel it.

Congrats on the pregnancy first of all! I'd phone my gyneacologist if I were you. I'm sure the baby is fine, but it'll give you peace of mind. Rub your tummy, talk to baby and even sing if you want to!You'll know when something's wrong.
Enjoy this special time and ask if you dont know!!!
