If you had it done as an adult for medical questions it's almost no doubt that's the after-result is going to be better, considering the foreskin was giving you problems...

I went through a period where I had a tight foreskin. If that's your case I did what in the link below (just gentle stretching) and it's been perfect ever since. Just in case you're interested in alternatives if that's what's affecting you.

Otherwise, here are the risks and effects of circumcision, with the help of medical sites and health organizations to bring up statistics and studies. Circumcision rates have dropped a lot in modern times (the USA is the last developed nation doing it; and even our rates have fallen to as low as 14% in some states):

It took me about 5 years to gather the nerves to get on with the procedure. I walked into the surgery at 10:25 for my 10:30 appointment and was walking out at noon.

The Doctor was excellent, nerve bloc was done before you knew it and I was on my back on the operating table. I did look once, and it did look kinda freaky, but all taken into account, not such a bad experience.

I did not have pain killers immediately after surgery, and it burnt like hell for about an hour or two as the anasthetic wore off. After that it was fine.

I Probably took only 5 of the 40 prescribed percadans.

I was up and about immediately, catching the plane back to houston the next day and working on the Monday.

I hated feeling my long loose foreskin against my girlfriends vagina. It felt like I was masturbating, not getting in 'contact' with her....

I last much longer now, and personally my orgasm are much much more intense....

The wound healing takes about two weeks, and it takes about 18 months to get used to your new toy.... It feels great.

I suggest you keep some movement on the skin, rather more skin than too tight... If you're cut too tight, its kinda difficult to masturbate without lube...

The procedure is simple. Usually right after you get it done for the rest of the day it is sore, but not too bad cause you still have alot of the medicine from the surgery in your system. The day after...on the other hand, is a little worse. I was pretty sore and it hurt to walk around and urinate. Gradually after a few days walking around wont be too bad anymore...same with urinating. But for close to a month after the surgery any erection that you get hurts VERY bad.

They will give you painkillers, they help...but you'll still be in a little pain. Also a day or two after the surgery, it might bleed a little, nothing major and from what I heard it was normal. Once your healed, sex, in my opinion, is a little better. You'll have more feeling, which is good.

This is just what my account with the surgery was like, yours may be different.

no pain, never. just scary erections, sex is better because I feel more of whats going on, I'm not sliding back and forth in my own skin and I think it looks better. It took about a month to heal. The doctor did an OK job it could have been just a little bit tighter but I'm pleased. I have no regrets, I would do it again. The main excuse on getting it done was the little piece of skin on the bottom of the head would tear, pretty often, so insurance took care of it. But truthfully I never liked the looks of it before when it was soft and neither did my wife. And about sensitivity loss, its not an issue with me. Its been about 15 years.

I chose to be circumcised 20 years ago, as an adult, in response to my (then new) wifes strong preference for a circumcised penis. I had a local anaesthetic so there was absolutely no pain during the procedure. Afterwards there is some occasional minor discomfort during the first few days of the healing process, particularly during nocturnal erections which cause the stitches to pull quite hard. This phase soon passes and in 3 weeks you will be fully healed and sexually active again. Circumcision is highly beneficial and circumcised men enjoy better hygiene, health, comfort, appearance, self-esteem and FAR better sexual sensation during intercourse for both themselves and their female partner(s). Also, most experienced women much prefer a circumcised man as a sexual partner. There are NO disadvantages to being circumcised and I have never had one second of regret.

One of my ex bfs got it done and he suffered from painful erections for a week. Whatever they gave him to control them, he was still getting them and it had been horrible!
