If God loves us, why did he create parasites and disease?

If he did not create them, then why does he permit them to exist?

"And don't tell me God works in mysterious ways," Yossarian continued, hurtling on over her objection. "There's nothing so mysterious about it. He's not working at all. He's playing. Or else, He's forgotten all about us. That's the kind of God you people talk about - a country bumpkin, a clumsy, bungling, brainless, conceited, uncouth hayseed. Good God, how much reverence can you have for a supreme being who finds it necessary to include such phenomena as phlegm and tooth decay in His divine system of creation? What in the world was running through that warped, evil, scatological mind of His when he robbed old people of their power to control their bowel movements? Why in the world did He ever create pain?"

"Pain?" Lieutenant Schiesskopf's wife pounced upon the word victoriously. "Pain is a useful symptom. Pain is a warning to us about bodily dangers."

"And who created the dangers?" Yossarian demanded, He laughed caustically. "Oh, He was really being charitable to us when He gave us pain! Why couldn't He have used a doorbell instead to notify us, or one of His celestial choirs? Or a system of blue-and-red neon tubes right in the middle of each person's forehead? Any jukebox manufacturer worth his salt could have done that. Why couldn't He?"

"People would certainly look silly walking around with red neon tubes in the middle of their foreheads."

"They certainly look beautiful now writhing in agony or stupified with morphine, don't they? What a colossal, immortal blunderer! When you consider the opportunity and power he had to really do a job, and then look at the stupid ugly little mess He made of it instead, His sheer incompetence is almost staggering. It's obvious. He never met a payroll. Why, no self-respecting businessman would hire a bungler like Him as even a shipping clerk!"

most of the answers already answered specifically this question- that because of the fall of man, diseases, etc have come into the world. But I will add one thing, just because bad things happen to people that does not mean God does not love us. Love does not mean never suffering. The greatest love in the world- Jesus dying on the Cross was the greatest suffering. Jesus suffered because of His love for us- so we need to realize that we will suffer as well- God's love is not negated because of sin, parasites, and disease, actually greater love has no one, than laying your life down for someone- and Jesus laid down His life for the world, however, the whole world will not accept that love, will you?

God did not create diseases or parasites they come into existance with the fall of satan when all of creation was perverted. He allows them to exist as a way to turn man back to him. When man has come to the end of himself and there is nothing else he can do to save himself he will turn to God.

God won't change it because man caused it with his disobedience and this is the consequences of that act.

So satan, Adam and Eve are to blame not God.

Look, stop blaming the creator for the sins of the creation. WE sinned, now WE are trapped in this three dimensional world in time.

Now I can hear you whining about how YOU didn't choose to take a bite of the forbidden fruit, and why oh why must you pay for it?

Well, guess what. You didn't decide we should go into Iraq, but that decision was imputed to you by your leader. So does God impute Adam's decision to you.

If you whine and cry all day long, it doesn't change the facts. I don't expect that to stop you though.

    Well, why not?

They are just a form of bacteria. And you also possess bacteria in your intestine, they assist human beings in digesting certain types of foods, breaking them down so the nutrients can be assimilated by the villi in the bowels.

When a person dies, the bacteria eventually escape the human being through natural means and they may survive for a very short time in the soil and environment, or they may perish.

But consider that other forms of animal life who also have bowels may also have bacteria to aid in digestion. And this is only one minute detail learned by studying creation.

Either way.....it's all part of life. To learn how to endure suffering and bring something good out of a bad experience, to learn what it means to work and struggle hard, even if illness takes us to the point of near death.

We're here to learn through examples every day, not to bury our heads like big stupid Ostriches in some old book.

Just because all of God's ways are right and just, does not mean we understand them all. Suffering is a tool meant to perfect us if we let it do its work. When sin entered the world, the world changed. Animals, insects, everything changed. They were created perfect. Sin altered everything. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Parasites and disease would fall into the Darwin Theory of Evolution. Only the strong survive. It's Gods plan to have death.

    Get over it.

God is not to prevent he is only here to allow...the beginning and the end have already been written.

It's not his fault! he created a dude which he knew would trick humans in exactly the right way to do it, he created humans that could be tricked, he created a world in which the result of being tricked is parasites and diseases... so as you can see he has nothing to do with sickness and disease, it's all our fault.

With out them, how can he show us part of he's character? Showing grace and healing us. God never created disease, it was a result of sin

Some retarded christians are going to say "satan" created them....which is really not a fair thing. Not only has god promised to kill everyone in the future with the apocalypse, but according the bible, he killed millions of people in a giant flood.

I suppose "evolution" being pointed out would get me a thumbs down.
