Do Christians really portray the spirit of truth regarding how salvation is obtained?

I have read and have been told that the Dead Sea Scroll gospels do not contradict the Bible.

However, upon reading the Apocalypse of Peter I don’t find this to be the case.

"But others shall change from evil words and misleading mysteries.

Some who do not understand mystery speak of things which they do not understand, but they will boast that the mystery of the truth is theirs alone.

And in haughtiness they shall grasp at pride, to envy the immortal soul which has become a pledge.”…

…"But many others, who oppose the truth and are the messengers of error, will set up their error and their law against these pure thoughts of mine, as looking out from one (perspective) thinking that good and evil are from one (source).

They do business in my word.

And they will propagate harsh fate.

The race of immortal souls will go in it in vain, until my Parousia (second coming).”…

Update:

"And there shall be others of those who are outside our number who name themselves bishop and also deacons, as if they have received their authority from God.

They bend themselves under the judgment of the leaders. Those people are dry canals."

…When he had said those things, I saw him seemingly being seized by them.

And I said "What do I see, O Lord?

That it is you yourself whom they take, and that you are grasping me?

Or who is this one, glad and laughing on the tree?

And is it another one whose feet and hands they are striking?"

The Savior said to me, "He whom you saw on the tree, glad and laughing, this is the living Jesus.

But this one into whose hands and feet they drive the nails is his fleshly part, which is the substitute being put to shame, the one who came into being in his likeness.

But look at him and me."

Update 2:

The definition of "inspired scripture" is subjective. The gospels found with the Bible have been censored, meanings and verses were changed to reflect a different attitude. Hmmm.

Update 3:

The point being made that the thought of Christ on the Cross is wrongful thought. Attributing his death at the hands of mankind as the thing Christ had to do for all to be saved. Christ didn't have to die in this manner to accomplish his task of offering his mercy and grace.

Christ came to do away with the old law and this includes sacrifice and atonement. It no longer being necessary. Yet, Christians crucify Christ over and over, believing this to be the source of their salvation.

Update 4:

Sister Zeal, I agree with you. I am not arguing this. I am talking about the perception of Christians that Christ HAD to die so they could be saved.

I am of the opinion that man has been reconciling this behavior because it is much better than facing the truth. They try to find redemption in the wrongful act.

The truth that we killed God who was incarnated here on this earth.

Dear Sister in Truth Soul Shaper and all,

Thank God that Salvation is free and direct from God and Jesus Christ both here as One Combined Spirit Presence, and not from some mere human beliefs about HOW we are certainly saved in our loving Father-Friend Creator God !

Micah 3:11 states: "The heads of the church judge for rewards and the priests teach for hire; (for money and favors) yet will they lean upon the Lord God and say: 'Is not the Lord among us? no evil can come to us.' "

Too many old, inferior Egyptian, Persian, Mithraic and Jewish human finite beliefs, and too much about Paul's beliefs and experiences, got mixed in the present Bible with the Supernal All Truth Words of our Master and Savior Jesus Christ !

We rejoice to know that all Truth is ever being Revealed by our Good Master Jesus here in Spirit to us ! See John 16:7-16 very True ! Amen !

Gradually the old sacrifical, bloody "atonement" doctrines will be Spirit of Truth augmented to "attunement" and later to "at-One-ment" in Jesus here with us always in the Family of God.

    Peace and progress,

I believe the Holy spirit is the spirit of truth. I believe God desires for all men to be saved. I believe he did tell his disciples to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.........I do believe he will come again with power and I do think that all people who have not heard the gospel shall hear it in due time. whether in this life or the life to come.

The Apocalypse of Peter is not a part of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls were written before Christianity, and contain no reference to Christianity whatsoever.

The Apocalypse of Peter is not inspired Scripture. In fact, if it contradicts Scripture as you seem to be saying, then that is more proof that it is not inspired Scripture.

Early writings can be helpful as a window to the times, but not all of them are theologically acurate.

I feel that many different religions and church heads portray different version of the truth of how salvation is obtained. I personally feel that if you talk with the Lord and repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness and turn to him in all you do and not rely on the world but on him , then I feel that salvation has been obtained..
