How long does it generally take for a broken bone to mend?
I broke my anke in Nov. 2006 and it still has a break in it. How long does it take it to heal anyway? If anyboby knows please help. I have done everything from p.t. to a bone healing machine and it is still just as broke as before.

Sometimes a break like that - especially one that gets a lot of use or supports a lot of weight like a foot - doesn't ever really feel right again. If you haven't already done so, it's probably a good idea to consult an orthopedist to find out what can be done.
Good luck!

Depending on how you heal, it could take 6-8 weeks. It could take longer if you smoke. For some reason smoking hinders the healing process.

If it hasn't healed by now, it probably didn't knit together at the start, or you are putting too much stress on it by using it. You should go and see an orthopedic surgeon.
