My Dell (98) booted up in safe mode and I can't get back to normal. Tried F8 trick and backdate.. not posible.

Tried the F8 trick....open NORMAL..nothing.

Tried to back date but now only 1 day is possible

Ran virus scan and ScanDisc

Safe mode disables most device drivers. You won't be able to print, have audio, proper display, possibly no USB and such.

Safe mode is designed to run windows with the bare minimum of requirements so that it is possible to run your machine when it is otherwise not bootable to fix a problem. If you can run in safe mode with networking try to update all of your device drivers, remove unneccessary programs or files from your computer, Scan for viruses and spyware/adware when running scandisk make sure automatically fix error and try to recover bad secters is checked. If none of this works then I would reload your OS if you have a recovery or windows disc available.

No bad things, just no good things, that is if you plan on using the internet/network, CD, USB drives. None of these are available when you run in Safe Mode. I don't even think printing is available.
