They have never found one to exist. They tried very hard to find it and thought there was, but under scrutinity from the rest of the scienific community, the findings didn't stand up to the tests. It seems that only "gay" scientists are looking for it to justify their behavior. With no luck I might add.

If there is a gay gene, science has not found it yet but that does not mean it does not exist.

I believe most gays are born that way but a few make the choice to be gay and those people sometimes change their orientation. The majority of gays, I believe, are born that way the say some people are born with brown eyes, blonde hair, tall, short, prone to be short, prone to be skinny, epileptic etc. It is just another thing about who you are.

If it was a choice, why would so many people choose it when Western society shuns gays? They wouldn't. Life would be much easier for them if they were straight.

Yes, some do have a choice from what they themselves say but the vast majority do not seem to. They were born gay and if you watch small children, I think you will begin to believ ethey are born gay as well.

No, there is no "Gay Gene"... none that I have ever seen from any reliable medical source.

Chose what influences you? Hhhmmm, do you CHOSE what attributes of another person makes you "giddy"? Honestly, you didn't chose what you find appealing in other people... you went through a process (at least your mind did) when you were going through puberty to determine what you like, but you didn't say "well, today, I think I'll like brown eyes and black hair.... but tomorrow I'm going to like blonde hair and blue eyes" It's just something that happens when you see something and it suddenly appeals to your senses. You didn't chose for that particular thing to appeal to you. lol

If there is such a thing as chosing homosexuality, then heterosexuals chose their sexuality (and honestly, how can you Chose something like that without TRYING it first????)... it also would have to lean on things like Love... Did you chose to love your mother? your spouse? your friends? Or is this something that just happened? No one makes a conscious decision "I am going to LOVE this person" and it happen that way.

Way too many excuses given by people to simply disregard another human being. "Gay" scientists? Come on... People will use anything just so they can ignore the fact they are ostracizing an entire group of people based on what kind of sex they are having (consentual sex between 2 adults of the same sex is NONE of anyone's business).

Gay gene? we could, scientifically, try to prove that being gay is due to an abnormal amount of a type of gene than others.

But to speak the truth, would be to say that it is not a gene. It is not the way God made people. T o say God made people this way would contradict the very nature of God being against homosexuality, just as He is against lying.

We, as a society, need to realize what influences us. By this, I mean, at a very early young age, we are exposed to different kinds of factors. A child may have been molested when young, often times, it being an only form of "love" the child receives.

an example would be, if you as a parent introduces football to a child at an early age. continuing to do this throughout his adolescent years, often will find him on a football team throughout high school and into college. whereas, if you isolate a child from his adolescent years, and not letting him interact with others and controlling what he sees and does will cause him to grow up, extremely shy, unsociable, withdrawn, low self esteem, no confidence and so on. we at times choose not to admit it, but our childhood influences has a huge impact on our adult lives.

This is a science question, which belongs in the science section. But I'll play along.

Regarding homosexuality being genetic or not, the jury is still out. There really isn't any conclusive evidence yet to confirm nor fully rule out a genetic component.

Though personally, I don't know why zealots are so bent on claiming homosexuality to be "a choice". Even if it wasn't genetic, I still have yet to hear a valid secular argument homosexuality.

Your genes can no longer make you right into a particular individual on there own, purely that your extra possibly to alter right into a particular individual. for example there's a gene that could make you extra possibly to be tall, yet ingesting a foul weight loss software could make you small inspite of your genes. i've got self belief that your suitable, and their probable is a gay gene, although this is not any longer purely this gene which might make you gay, purely extra possibly. So in fact this is not any longer a query of Nature Vs Nurture to make certain why you're who you're, even though it extremely is Nature and Nurture jointly that make you who you're! wish this helps

Just because the "gay gene" hasn't been identified doesn't give people the right to gay-bash. Genes do not change in an individual. People don't choose their sexual orientation. Did you choose to be straight?

BTW no "straight gene" has been identified. So should I go out and straight-bash?

    there is no gay gene

    or intelligence gene

    or fat gene

    or gene for free will

these come from a combination of many genes and the environment
