Anybody out there from Maine?
Just wondering who on here is from or was from Maine? If you left why? Hated it here or other? If you are still here, why? Stuck here or love it and cant see yourself anywhere else?
I was just wondering how Mainers feel about their state. I love it here too and I was just curious.

Good Day to you! Yeah, I live in Maine. I love it for many reasons yet also love traveling anywhere I can to experience other places and manners of living. I respect Maine since I am able to walk a few minutes and get fresh & clean spring water or throw a kayak in a river or take a 10 minute drive and go for a lovely hike in which the view is fantastic. I love that about Maine. Sometimes I get a bit annoyed with the 'wal mart' mentality here but I imagine that can be found nearly everywhere in this country! So...yes, I love Maine :) Been here since I was 2 yrs old, left in my early 20's and came racing back shortly after :) May I ask why you ask?? Sounds like you are living here as well? I stick close to the western mtn. area, the coastal tourists season I can do without (not to knock them, just not my thing going 5mp around them in Freeport and such) and to see the ridiculous growing surge of people living in cul de sacs bothers me too!! I prefer being out in the sticks where I may build what I want, grow what I need and have animals if I choose without some lowly city worker breathing down my neck reciting city laws, regulations or some bs like that....Ooops perhaps I am venting a bit here lol!

I live in Maine (Portland), I like it alot. I actually moved here from West Central Vermont... going from a ruralite to living just outside a decent sized small city was quite a change, but I wouldn't dream of going back to VT anytime soon.
This is a happening city, lots of stuff going on, not too many a**holes, places to go, stuff to see... Jed Clampit, anyone? Haha.
