For humans to have a society of progressive self-evolution we need a blending of scientific and spiritual understanding, which leads us to understand that mind creates this world not some outside force. We are getting there. Science, including the disciplines of physics and psychology, is able to verify what those delving in spirit have always "known."

War is a belief in warfare. Hate is a belief that hate is valid. When we understand the destructive nature of our thoughts, not just on our actions from those thoughts, but from the unseen damage our thoughts do on a cosmic level, we can change and live in harmony. The only reason we don't do that now is that people are so invested in their belief that world peace and harmony are not possible.

I'd have to agree with Winston Churchill. Democracy is a horrible form of government, but we haven't come up with anything better.

Any society that's going to allow man to advance had better at least recognize the basic principles of Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood that have allowed man to progress more in the last two hundred years than he had since the Paleolithic Revolution.

    Peace to you.

The one (s)he happens to be in, right here, right now - methinks.

It's the internal qualities that count, I think, less than the socio-political structures of the time & place.

Right effort can conquer any circumstance, I hear.

    (Autocracy comes to mind; self-ruled.)

The kind of society that is made up of individuals who've learned the value and power of the individual. (self-evolution)

That same society would understand its interconnectedness with all other species, and it would understand its place in the grand scheme of things.

One where the individual is allowed to develop and prosper.

That would be the opposite of socialism.

A democracy where everyone chooses, of their own free will, to embrace knowledge and reject superstition.
