Why wouldn't the Republican Candidates for President meet in the Naacp forum?
The Democratic Candidates did! Does this mean that the Republicans are racist, or just do not consider the minority citizens to be important? Intelligent answers please...
I disagree with Steve that it is Ignorant. Bush went and spoke at Bob Jones University without any hesitation, but waited years before finally accepting his invite to speak before the NAACP. Bob Jones U. is well known for it's racist policies, and misguided perspective on the Catholic religion. The Naacp is a very positive, racially proliferating organization that was founded by both Blacks and Whites. So how else should such a situation be interpreted?

They probably feel that they would not gain anything because their views on most issues are completely opposite then most people in the NAACP. It wasn't important to them because they didn't feel that they would gain any votes by attending. And because Blacks only make up about 12% of the population and only a small fraction of them vote Republican, it wasn't worth the effort. It's much easier to skip the forum then try to convince people that they are wrong and you are right on the issues. It is human nature that makes most people want to "preach to the choir."

Because they may think its:
N = Not
A = Always
A = A
C = Cool
P = Place
Not Always A Cool Place or
*****'s Are Always Cool People or
Never Allow Any Congressional Person or
Just maybe they haven't been told its for everyone or their friends may see the in attendance and then there would be some kind of scandal to which the tax payers would have to pay for, so its kind of protecting us too. You'd have to watch oprah or Satursay Night Live (SNL) to get that answer.

I can't speak for why they didn't go.... To say that they are racist for not participating is ignorant. I think it might even show that Democrats are looking to exploit "minorities" and tell them whatever they want to hear. You have to see through the smoke....it's all about votes and political gain. Example...Bill Clinton pretty much said if he gets voted into office that he would give gay rights.... All for votes...

Either way....it means nothing. If you don't show support by showing up to an event...that does not make you racist. The race card gets pulled so often that nobody even takes it that serious. I'm sorry man but Democrats are using the "minority" for a vote. If you think otherwise then that's fine....but it's pretty clear to me.

Probably for the same reasons that they won't likely debate or meet in a KKK forum. The NAACP is a racist organization the same as the KKK. The democrat candidates are all idiots so the fact that they did isn't surprising.

The NAACP has become obsolete. Let people get jobs according to merit.........it's been more than 30 years for people to improve themselves through affirmative action. If they haven't done so by now, they do not deserve it. Whites are now put on the back burner no matter what their qualifications might be.

Why waste their time? Racism comes in all colors, and it is no less racist in the NAACP than it is in the Aryan Brotherhood. Same song, different verse.........
